I am writing to formally express my concern and request immediate assistance regarding a serious issue with my American Standard HVAC unit, installed in 2022. I purchased my home in 2023, and unfortunately, the system has already failed due to a leaking coil. The estimated cost for the replacement and labor exceeds $1,400.I was extremely disappointed to learn that although American Standard advertises a 10-year limited parts warranty, the warranty is reduced to 5 years if not registered within 60 days of installation. As a new homeowner, I was unaware of this policy and had no opportunity to fulfill this requirement. Adding to the issue, I recently discovered that my unit's serial number was registered on June 2, 2025, by another party. This duplicate registration has placed my warranty claim in limbo, pending investigation by Trane.I have contacted Trane Consumer Relations and requested Loyalty Credit/Cost Assistance. I was informed that my case has been escalated, but nearly a month has passed with no resolution. Meanwhile, Ive endured unbearable living conditionstemperatures exceeding 90F indoors, relying on ineffective fans, and having to stay elsewhere or sit in my car just to find relief from the heat.I am the verified legal homeowner, and the installing vendor has submitted all necessary documentation to confirm my ownership of the unit. It is disheartening that a critical component has failed on a system that is barely two years old. I am also concerned about the long-term reliability of the unitif the coil has already failed, what assurance do I have that it wont happen again? Therefore, I respectfully request that American Standard honor the full 10-year parts warranty and cover the cost of the coil replacement. Given the circumstances and ongoing warranty conflict, I also ask that consideration be given to replacing the entire unit.

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this complaint.
We would like to clarify that we are American Standard Heating & Cooling, a small, locally owned **** installation company based in *******. We are not affiliated in any way with ***********************;or the manufacturer of American Standard brand HVAC equipment.
Our company provides residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning services. We do not manufacture, distribute, or sell equipment under the American Standard brand name, nor do we represent ourselves as the manufacturer.
It appears there may have been some confusion due to the similarity in names, but we assure you that we are an independent contractor and not connected to the equipment manufacturer.
Please let us know if you need any further clarification.
    Sincerely,
    American Standard Heating & Cooling

I had a brand new American Standard HVAC system installed 5 years and 3 months ago, when I bought my house. Today, I find out the coil is leaking and needs to be replaced. Today, I also found out that, although American Standard advertises a 10 year warranty, if you don't register the warranty with them within 60 days of installation, they arbitrarily cut the warranty in half. I didn't even sign any documents agreeing to these terms; they've just decided that this is how their company operates. Thus, they claim that my warranty is three months expired, and I'm on my own. Even if this is legal (I'm not an expert on warranty law), it certainly isn't ethical or good business.

We had a new American standard HVAC unit installed on May 10 2022. The unit had a coil leak and ran all the time . My electric bills were averaging around 350 per month till the new unit was installed. After this high efficacy unit was installed my electric bills went up to 550 average per month. I called the installer and they found a faulty coil from the factory. I called the company and sent all requested bills . They have not called me to resolve this. The company should pay for my over charges on electric due to the failed part. four months at 200 per month.

Hi, this is **** with American Standard heating and air. This is not the American standard HVAC company you think it is. We are a private owned HVAC contractor company. You are referring to American Standard the manufacturer which is owned by Trane. We just happen to share similar names and this happens all the time. Please contact Trane about your problems. Thank you.
