My car was left at Maaco to be repainted on ***** ** ****. I picked it up on ******* ***** **, and paid the bill in full in the amount of $550.00. One problem is that the emblem on the lift gate was NOT removed as requested, but painted over, and it looks terrible. There is also a lot of body paint on other parts of the car, not just a little bleedover, but noticeable spots. The major problem is that my battery was dead when I tried to start the car after paying. Maaco "jumped" the battery, said it would be fine if I was driving to *******. When I asked why the battery was dead, I was told that they "baked" the new paint onto the car and that made the battery go dead. I drove home to ******* with no problems. When I tried to start the car the next morning (***** **), the battery was again dead. I called Maaco, they wanted me to bring the battery in but I had no way to get there with a DEAD BATTERY, and no one to give me a ride. They said someone would call me back, but no one did. I replaced the battery that evening, and while going home, heard a loud BANG. When I got home, we checked under the hood and found a roll of tape on the serpentine belt that was NOT there when the new battery was installed. There was also a "shred" of belt under the hood, so I took it into ***** the next day. ***** said the roll of tape had shredded the belt and gave me a handful of rubber pieces that had come off during the drive to their shop. They said it was unsafe to drive unless replaced, that the belt was wiggling and could burn out the engine. I had them fix the belt immediately. I called Maaco after getting home and advised that I had spent $320.93 total to repair damages to my car caused by the company/employees. I was told by the receptionist that she would call back later today (***** **) without fail and we could "work something out". SHE NEVER CALLED. I am out of $320.93 due to Maaco and its employees. I do not have time to keep calling them.Business response
