In November I called to attempt to cancel my membership due to not having a way to get there any longer. They told me I would have to come in to the gym to cancel which I have since been told by their billing company was incorrect. I arranged to get a ride to the gym on 4 separate occasions only to be told that I could not cancel at that time because the manager was not there on any of those 4 occasions. This went on over a 4 month period. I felt that they were just trying to keep me on the line for more money and more membership fees as I’m sure anyone could help me cancel. When in March I finally was able to find a manager and she simply gave me a card with directions of how to cancel online, she informed me that I had waited so long that now my annual dues of $60 would also be due as well. I’m certain this was the intent all along and I feel that this is the most underhanded business practice I have ever seen. I asked my mother to call and try to see if there was something we could do about all these fees while I was at work. Of course the manager was unavailable and promised to call the next day which they did not. This is obviously a great way to get very rich off of people who are trying to go about cancelling the correct way. I want my cancellation handled and I would love to have my fees returned through November including any annual fees.

I called the Chatsworth Georgia Workout Anytime Gym in December because I knew my contact was ending and I wanted to find out if I needed to submit anything in writing to get it to cancel. I was told no. It would automatically end and if I wanted to continue it would be 19.99 a month. I was also told my last payment would be in February.

It is now March and I received the regular monthly charge in February which I expected and then another 78.00 charge so I called to find out why.

The truth of the matter is that my yearly contact ended in December and I was billed 19.99 x 2 in January and in February for monthly charges and I was billed 78.00 for a yearly fee. I called India and she cancelled my membership but would not refund me anything even though I have not gone to the gym in January or February and they do not hold anyone responsible at the local gym for the misinformation they gave me.

This is why I will never ever go to another Workout anytime or recommend anyone to go and I will be posting this on all my social media accounts so consumers can beware of a business that doesn't care about customers.

    Ridiculous.
