    *********** not releasing cars to owner and said that an appointment is needed. Not posted on their site that an appointment is needed. They're intentionally holding people cars and not releasing to charge more and and to add additional storage fees to customers. They're making up policies and procedures as they go and this is not fair practice.

    On October 5th, 2022, I paid $195.00 in cash to HiTech Towing for the release of my illegally impounded vehicle. I had my vehicle towed from a local business the previous night. I entered the premises and was greeted with anger and hostility. The business refused to provide a bill and demanded I pay the bill in cash. They would not show me an itemized bill of my expenses. There was information on the wall that outlined the legal limitation for how much the business could charge. This information was dated to 2017 and out-of-date. I brought this to their attention and referenced the law that governed the limitations for a non-consensual towing on private property. The business owned accused me of being a lawyer and said to talk to her lawyer. The business did not display their license anywhere in the office as mandated by law. I have a video record of the entire office on October 5th, 2022, to prove this. The amount charged as the flat towing fee ($175) was above the GA legal maximum by an amount of $50. The legal maximum for non-consensual towing on private property to be paid to the towing authority is $125.In addition to several forms of malpractice, I conducted an investigation on the site of the tow. I found that the lot my vehicle was towed from has improper signage and unclear signage. The towing authority on the premise of the business my vehicle was towed from did not perform the basic obligations outlined in the procedure defined by the GA DPS to correctly perform the towing. There was no written and signed documentation by the private property's representative and the towing agency to authorize the towing of my vehicle.In addition to that, the business maintained a hostile environment to harbor duress and confusion to the customer. I was being demanded money by one person and demanded to leave by security (who was not enforcing me to leave) simultaneously. This business is not operating legally and using predatory tactics to demand money from people.
