    I switched to another storage unit in the same complex for April 2025 (I had been a customer for 3 years already) and the price was $80 per month for 1 year. This week (July 10) I received a 45% rate increase without warning to $120. After Contacting the business manager of the property I was sent to head office where a robot took my complaint. I don't understand business that would to a rate increase of this capacity in this economy.

    I HAVE RENTED FROM THIS COMPANY FOR TWO YEARS AND HAVE HAD SOME PRICE INCREASES. I RECEIVED A POST CARD TONIGHT INDICATING THAT MY UNIT IS GOING UP 33% IN RENT FROM $296 MONTHLY TO $408. THIS IS ABSURD AND IS PRICE GAUGING. PLEASE PUT THE WORD OUT THAT NO ONE SHOULD RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE.

    On May 19, 2025, I was injured at Space Shop Self Storage ************* (Unit B1191) around 7:29 PM while accessing my unit. The overhead garage-style door, which was already up when I arrived, suddenly slammed down, nearly hitting the top of my head and injuring both myself and my guest, ***** *****. We sustained scrapes and hand injuries trying to lift the door and were left without any emergency support options, signage, or staff assistance for over 2 hours.The night before (May 18), I had heard unknown individuals inside the storage area after hours, which raised safety concerns. There was no emergency contact number posted on-site, and repeated calls to the main line and voicemails went unanswered. I have video/photo evidence and am requesting that security footage from May 1819 be preserved.Instead of a response to my report or concern, I received a past-due payment notice, which I find unacceptable given the situation. My original rental agreement (under Extra Space Storage) was for $15/month, but after Space Shop took over, the rent was increased to $34/month without formal notice or a new ************ requesting:A formal investigation and response Confirmation that surveillance footage is preserved That my rent and late fee be waived until this issue is resolved Compensation for the injuries and incident This complaint is being submitted due to lack of response, unsafe conditions, and the company's failure to properly assist tenants in distress.

    Due to negligence of the staff as well as possible employee malfeasance, property was stolen from my storage unit. I rented a unit from this facility at the end of January 2025 (the second unit I have there). I placed belongings into the unit and secured it with a padlock. When I returned approx. two weeks later to access the unit, I noticed that my lock was not there and had been replaced with a different lock. After notifying the office staff, they informed me that they had placed a new lock since there was no lock on the unit. However, at no point did they inform me that that was the case. They provided a key to the new lock and I accessed the unit only to find it empty, all my belongings having been stolen. I reported this to the office staff as well as summoned the local police. The property manager indicated she would review the security footage to try to determine when and who accessed my unit. When discussing with the policeman who arrived to take the report, she indicated that she did not see anyone leaving the building with my belongings through any of the entry/exit doors that had camera footage. She stated that this implied that it was employee theft since the public would have had to exit through a public/recorded door.

    This business has increased my rental rate by 66% in one year. They employed bait and switch pricing tactics which are unethical and unfair.

    Air conditioner broken in a climate controlled building. Record high temperatures. No warning to customers that temperatures could exceed 90 degrees

    Entered by BBB staff LO Consumer states she has been using this business for 2 years and for the first time they made an unauthorized charge to her account 2/1/24. She is not set up for auto pay, she calls them to make her payment when she gets her check. The bank has even tried contacting the business to resolve this but they will not speak with the bank. The business states that it is the banks fault not theirs. On 2/1/24 the payment looked like it was reversed but it is still showing as a withdrawal and not a credit. This caused the consumers account to go into overdraft and she received a notice for collections.
