I hired A1-Freeman to move my belongings from ***********, ** to *****, **. My belongings were in both short and long term storage and then delivered to my home. When my belongings were delivered, I found out that some boxes were missing. They were not checked off on the inventory list. I circled these boxes on the form. An employee volunteered to find them. He went around the back of the garage (out of sight) and yelled out "I found it" for each missing box. However, the boxes are still missing. They were never delivered.I have found out that I do not have any recourse because I signed the form. I have tried filing with the ***** police and submitted my complaint to legal aid. Nothing. I sent A-1 Freeman a spreadsheet of the boxes/bins/flats that were delivered and the condition of each. I also send a spreadsheet of the replacement cost for the missing items. The company will not reimburse me. I also spoke to the adjustor for the damages -- two bins were crushed, two sets of velvet hangers were destroyed when some hanging boxes were crushed, (3) table legs of an antique table were vandalized, the front door of a wardrobe was scratched. I was sent a $250 check for @ $1,300 worth of damage. I got the estimate from the man they sent to estimate the damages. These people are dishonest. I cannot think of a reason to use them. I told them what the delivery man said ("no need to document, fill out the damages later"). Another delivery person asked about the antique table, which was completed covered in bubble wrap (the legs) and moving blankets (the top). When I found the table in the garage, the legs have been moved, uncovered and they were damaged. Ebony/ivory inlay had been gouged out. I have supplied all of the information that I can for a claim. I had two friends travel here to help me with the box/bin/flat inventory to ensure we covered everything that was delivered. Can you help me?
