Young man spoke nicely and seemed knowledgeable but I asked him how much it would be just to come to my home where the van is to see what was wrong with my car. He said $125 but that half would go toward final cost. Wife was with mechanic(?), got out of car and not particularly friendly or reasonably professional looking. He said the cost was $325 and he would be back the next day. I had to call him when he didn't return as he said. Paid him $185 for the part he said was needed and not given any receipt. Didn't come the next time he said that he would. Called and came the next morning again with his wife who stood there with him and maybe helped I don't know. My neighbor even thought it seemed a bit unusual. Wife called when job was done. Told the price was $305 which was not what I had figured and then told he had to buy another part that I was never told about. Then argued with young man and wife about the cost and cost of the parts. They said I did not want to pay which was not true. I just wanted to have an idea about the true cost of the total repair plus parts. I understand now that it was my fault for not asking for a written estimate initially. I just suggested that they tell the customer that they must pay for the parts too. They argued and said they would not do this because everyone else already knows this and I was the only one who did not. There was no receipt because the wife said they left the receipt book at home. I paid what they asked for. I apologize for talking about them as I admit but still this was very very very unprofessional. He may be a good mechanic but the way this business was handled was very unprofessional including the length of time it took. I needed my car fixed to drive it to an event several days later and it was not fixed until 4 days after I needed it. I was just trying to get a car repair and wanted no part of this drama!

Above, I put $305 but the correct amount they asked for was $304 after the job was done, I hope anyway after all of this. I have not driven the van anywhere but into the garage. This situation is very disheartening because I got the name of this business on the Better Business Bureau's website as a registered business with and A- rating. Also after all of this, I'm wondering if the parts really cost what I was told because again there were no written estimates, no receipts and no final bill because I was told the receipt book was left at home???? Really? I believe these people mistook my putting up with their whatever you want to call it for being a fool. I ended up paying $125 for the initial visit, $185 for a part, and $304 when the work was done (hopefully) - $614. When what I was told was that I would pay $125 and half would go toward the final cost that I was told was $325 which would make a total of $325 + $62.50 = $387.50. And very humbly speaking, I am a former middle school and college math teacher. I was not going to write this review then I thought about how ***** should have to endure something like this. Oh yes, and the young man said something like he had something for me if I wrote a bad review. What???? It was recommended that I file a police report for that comment. And this comes from a business that is registered with the Better Business Bureau with an A- rating. Well, to me this is an honest review and again, I wrote it because I nor anyone else deserves to have to go through something like this if their only intent was to trust someone to evaluate the trouble with their car, get a reasonable estimate, have the repair done, and pay. That's all I was trying to do. Period! Then I had to take up time to write this.
