      On November 20, 2023 I signed up to have Earthlink internet installed at my home. They charged my card a one-time installation fee. When the technician came out to install the service, I asked him the difference between Frontier internet and the fiber optic Earthlink was going to install. He asked if I had Frontier internet already, to which I replied yes. He informed me that he was there to install Frontier and that Earthlink works with Frontier and they are the same thing. I apologized for wasting his time and told him to please cancel the installation and account. He didn't even make it 5 feet from his van and was in my driveway for 1 minute before leaving. 3 months later, I am reviewing my credit card statement and see that Earthlink has been charging me $73.68 per month for services that I do not have with them. When I called customer service to inquire about the charges and a refund, they told me the technician installed their equipment in my house and I owe this money. I told them several times that he was in my driveway for 1 minute before leaving and that he didn't even come close to my home or in it. They have been sending me texts messages everyday and calling my phone day and night trying to obtain payment for services that I do not have. They tried charging my card again today for $285.92. I never signed any documents or agreements with Earthlink because nothing was done other than scheduling an installation appointment; nor do I have any of their equipment inside or outside of my home. They have also threatened to turn my account over to collections for non payment.

      **************** is terrible. High wait times and they hang up on you all the time while waiting. My internet wont work and after days of getting the run around I was told a ticket was placed to escalate and we would get a call in ***** hr. Escalation to advanced technical support does not exist as they do not call back, ever. I have been without internet service for over a week and I work from home. the escalation department will not call back. Ive been calling everyday for a week and get the same thing. Either we are told no one can help or they have escalated the problem again.. also, they cancel the escalation every time I check to see why they havent called to help up. not a single person has been able to help and I have exhausted my efforts. Now Im trying to cancel service and that department wont answer the phone or call back. Wait times are hrs. We are paying for something we cant use or give back or cancel. This is a nightmare and I am spending a ton of money traveling to work each day because of this issue. I need help!!!!

      We apologize that ************** had multiple issues when she tried to troubleshoot her internet issue and then when she tried to cancel. We have been experiencing longer hold times for the Executive ********************* and there have been days due to personal reasons where there are only two agents and multiple customers in the queue. We know the long hold time is frustrating, but we work tirelessly to resolve all customer issues. There is a voicemail set in place for customers to leave a message, which I checked yesterday, and I did not see where ************** left a message for us to call her. Then, we also have the callback function, which allows us to call a customer back when their turn is up in the queue. We are working hard to improve call times so that our customers do not have to sit on the phone all day waiting. Please bear with us as we make these transitions.  Upon chatting with ************** through Consumer Review one of our agents did reach ************** yesterday and they were able to assist Again, we do apologize that ************** was frustrated with the long hold times, and that nobody called her back like she was told, but we were able to get ****************** account canceled.
