I called to cancel my membership in July 2023. I was told I had to call an 800 number to cancel. I did that and was told membership was canceled. I continued to be charged $180 for 3 months. I am now being told I must cancel in writing. I asked for copy of contract that states that and have not heard back from GM at the site. I see I am not the first person being scammed when canceling membership.Initial Complaint

Man I am absolutely disappointed in one life fitness. I left a year ago because the spa area was always either dirty or not working. I return only to find conditions are just as bad if not worse. The jacuzzi has had the same dirt in it for what appears to be weeks to months. They're literally only draining water and putting it back in. NO ONE IS CLEANING THE JACUZZI. same dirt has been there in the same spots since I began a new membership over a week ago. TODAY HOWEVER ITS DIRTY AND HAS ZERO CHLORINE. THE WATER SMELLS LIKE SWEAT AND A MOP BUCKET. You've gotta be kidding me man. Absolutely disgusting. No concern of anyone's health. Every day I came in from 10/1-10/7/2023..same thing. Today 10/10/23 the pool cleaner came in but when he left the area looks exactly the same. He only added CHLORINE to the water.Initial Complaint

I paid for swimming lessons back in Janurary 2023, and my son was not able to fully take his lessons due to the poor management of the facility. On April 6, 2023 at 530 pm I took my son to his swimming lessons, where the instructor was talking to another parent and my son almost drowned. His entire body was under water for nearly a minute when I told the instructor " Hey get him!". After that my son has not been back to swimming lessons. When I asked for a refund, I was told that " I am not getting a refund, this is a business, and you can either transfer that credit to personal training or take that loss". The way I was spoken to by the managers of this facility is truly disheartening. So now I am out of ****** that they refuse to refund to me, and expect me to go back to the gym and act as if they will not be targeting me.Initial Complaint

Due to an ankle sprain injury and a desire to save money, I have been trying to cancel my subscription to One Life for two months starting at the beginning of Ferbruary. Initially I agreed to have the account freezed for one month until I got over my injury. I was only supposed to be charged $5.00 for that time but I got a prorated charge for $19.35. In addition to that, I was charged an additional $39.99 for the month which the account was supposed to be frozen due to whomever was supposed to freeze it had neglected to do so. Subsequently. I was tired of with dealing the run around I was getting with One Life Fitness and decided to cancel my membership altogether. I contacted my bank and had them issue a stop payment. However, One Life Gym has circumvented the stop payment issued by my bank and charged me an additional ten dollars for ***** in addition to the $39.99 monthly fee by using another name as well as the new debit card issued that I had not given them permission to charge. I had not received any response to either one of the emails I sent previously until the beginning of ***** after they had already charged my account an additional $50.00 on ***** 5th. All I wanted to do was cancel my membership and they have made this unnecessarily difficult to do so.Initial Complaint

Back in 2021 we called to cancel our account and they said that they could only freeze it due to the pandemic for 6 months and I didnt receive a call or email letting me know that it was going to be reactivated and we hadnt noticed that they had been taken money out since June 2022. When we called as to why they were charging they said they never cancelled our account and have been charging us and they owe us $1,332.60. I called the other day and they said to go and set up a meeting to talk about it and that they are going to charge us $40 more for March of this year because of the 30 day notice. We just want a refund of that money because we havent been going and they dont want to give us a refund of the past 12 monthsInitial Complaint

I called about unexpected gym maintenance fees that were charged and ***** (maybe shes an owner )thats why she talked to me the way she did was unexceptionally rude and unprofessional. She basically is gaslighting me by telling me that what I am saying is not true I remember when I signed my contract and I remember being told if I specifically took two of my kids off I will be able to avoid this maintenance fee. She told me Im lying and I never was told that because I signed fine print. This is a forum of abuse and I dont appreciate being gaslit by a gym owner/ employee in a super harsh manner. ***** invalidated me talked over me and gaslit me in less than 10 minutes . I am a member whom is just trying to figure out a solution to the problem. Anyways Ill be taking my complaint higher up.I feel as if one life brand needs to Notified asap as there GM is using toxic forums of abuse to gaslight there members. It was very uncomfortable being spoken to that way. I am not lying I am not making up what I was told. They also emailed me saying I was considering other gyms and maybe I was confused with other policys (thats highly toxic/abusive) I was NOT gym shopping when I joined this gym I joined this gym because a friend convinced me to join this gym. So this gym trying to make me recollect my conversations of signing their fine print has now shorted me $80 $90 bucks that I could use towards my small childrens Christmas presents. I feel blinded mislead and Quiet frankly abused by the one life at brambletonInitial Complaint

I had a personal training contract with OneLife Fitness 78. Originally, I cancelled my contract for personal training. The ** allowed me to rewrite my contract and freeze, pushing the date for it to reactivate 3 months later. I find out that they continued to charge me in the mean time. Suddenly, they don't have the paperwork and the ** is not available to deal with this issue. I spoke with them at the end of August, the freeze on the personal training was to go to the end of November. They charged me for September and October. He does not have the freeze paperwork available. I am being charged $260.00 per month until it reaches cancellation. They lied to me about this situation and are not working to resolve it. They even said, if they refunded one payment, they would have to redraft it later on. I do not think so. Need helpInitial Complaint

I was in a car wreck leaving the gym, I broke numerous bones in both feet, my doctor provided me a note to discontinue/quit the gym, however he doesn't email such documents. So I turned it in to the front desk in early 2022. The following months I was charged the membership fees, not only for my families but another account as well, I called the gym, I was told I couldn't cancel only put a hold on the account, I again stated I wanted to cancel my membership, again I was told I couldn't, I could only put a hold on the account, I hung up and called back serveral times, finally they agreed to cancel my membership but put a hold on my personal training until I can work out again, even tho I told them it could be months possibly longer. I've had multiple surgeries but no clearance for the gym yet, I'm still being charged for my account and a mystery one as well. I have a since reached out my email to have proof of every conversation, even tho I get confirmation they received my emails, I get no response or resolution to my inquiry about the charges.
