      I had a very frustrating experience with this background check company. Despite advertising a 5-day turnaround, my report took 25 dayswith no clear communication or accountability. I had to follow up multiple times, and the customer service agents I dealt with were often rude, dismissive, and unhelpful.Timelines and transparency are critical during the onboarding process, and this company showed a complete lack of respect for both. Their handling caused unnecessary stress and uncertainty for me at a key career transition point.I would strongly advise others to stay away from this service. If I could give zero stars, I would.

      I signed up to have my background check run via *** location. Upon arrival, the employee working told me to follow the prompts on the screen. She didnt validate my forms of ID. I was having a hard getting my fingerprints to register and when I asked for help I was told, There isnt anything I can do, you have to follow the prompts. I continued to try to get a green response with my fingerprints. The employee working said they would probably be fine and told me to submit. I asked if I could review them again and she told me the only way I could review them is to order another background check. I had to ask her to wipe the machine, asked her if I could wipe my hands with something in hopes it would read better, and asked her if there was anything additional she could do. I was told, I dont know or I cant helpI asked for a refund with First Advantage as the directions I received from the employee were not only incorrect but were also inaccurate. *******, Director of Operations, stated they couldnt provide a refund because they performed their end by running the fingerprints. Hi ******, I am sorry to hear of all of that, and I do wish that they had advised you to call us at the time as we would have remotely viewed your prints and offered guidance on how to improve the print quality, as well as advise that a second order would not be needed. If your first set prints had been rejected, which they were not, you would have an opportunity to capture a second set of prints at no additional cost using the same registration code on the same order. I am not sure why the associate at this location advised you to create a second order, but since we did submit two sets of prints and incur the costs from the *** twice, we are unable to provide an additional refund.We have reached out to this center to provide guidance going forward on proper print capture and support.       This entire background check for a janitorial job at ******* was a living nightmare. They continuously harassed for info I'd already given . You'd thought I was trying to get a job at the ********** or pentagon. They made me feel like I should pay them to let me clean bathrooms at ******* .I'll never want to work at ******* again I did enjoy talking to the lady who is over hiring . At first I couldn't wait to hear back from them and they @ First Advantage are still to this day harassing me . About a month now. All I can say is if your wanting a job and need a background check if you so much as hear the words First Advantage run and don't look back they are horrible

      It has to be a faster way for employers to obtain background checks in order to be able to hire sooner. It's going on week 3 my check hasn't made it holding me up for being placed on the schedule. I have 3 children I'm the main provider for. A break in income like this is punishment.

      The absolute worst service, my husband is still waiting on a background check? And they have no reason as to why it is taking So long, while their business motto is, we do it quickly, and dont give me the response its because of local records Ive already contacted them, and judging by the other comments in these reviews its a common thing. Ppl should get rid of this service, its costing ppl money not being able to work, and causing businesses to wait longer on getting help. Boycott this company immediately

      This is the only background check company that decides whether you should get the job or not. They will tell your potential emplorer that you are INELIGIBLE if you got a larceny charge 5yrs ago. Even if the job is picking up trash at the city dump. What this company is doing is wrong and it should be illegal. They are ruining people's lives. If someone who's just trying to get a job to support their family gets told that they can't do the job because they messed up 5yrs ago, that can be devastating. It can make someone suicidal. Especially if they have been struggling for 20yrs trying to work their way out of poverty. And this company with a stroke of a pen heartlessly labels a human being INELIGIBLE to pick up trash around the city landfill. They have no business telling an employer a potential worker isn't allowed to do the job. I've had multiple background checks done on me over the years and I've never had a company violate my civil rights like this company has done to me. This is the most anti American company I ever had to deal with. If they do not stop their unlawful practices I will file a lawsuit for the trauma they have caused me.

      They are very difficult, slow, and opaque to work with as a hiring company. Their verification process for employers are ridiculous as they wouldn't accept our government filings with the State of Florida but required instead a photo of our address - which proves absolutely nothing. I am currently holding an offer open as their check is taking more than a week to complete. Finally, they are very non-transparent as a vendor with several different service lines, only chat available, and very rigid processing. I used them only because ********** referred to them, but NEVER AGAIN. Check the **** list of recommended checks instead and avoid First Advantage.

      Working with First Advantage has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with a vendor. Our company is required to run background checks through them since we place **** inside large home improvement retail locations across the ***** and the process has been a constant headache.Lets start with the delays. Once a *** submits their information, it can take days, even weeks, to receive any sort of response. And when we finally do, its usually a request for information weve already providedthings like the candidates place of birth or a signed authorization form that was included in the original submission! Despite having everything in order, Ive spent 10+ days going back and forth with First Advantage over documents that they claim they cant find.But whats truly unacceptable is that I once waited over FOUR MONTHS with first advantage dragging their feet, going back and forth because of the reasons I mentioned above- information request after information request of the SAME information I gave them in the beginning! Thats rightfour entire months. By the time First Advantage was ready to move forward, we had already lost the *** because they couldnt afford to sit around waiting. This isn't just inconvenientits damaging to our business.They also request highly sensitive documents like photos of ****' Social Security cards, which has made many of our team members uncomfortable. On top of that, there's no live customer support. Were paying $50 per background check and cant even speak to a real person. No phone number, no dedicated emailjust a chatbot that sends me around to other **** who take 20 minutes to solve my issues.Unless youre ready to lose valuable candidates, time, and money, I strongly advise against working with any company that uses First Advantage. I would never go through this process again if I had a choice.

      Painfully slow background check, call support is not in the **, and the lack of professionalism in handling sensitive information is astounding -t he responses and tone you'll get during an e-mail exchange or phone call makes it seem like a scam.I've had to use them on 3 separate occasions for employer background checks and no interaction shows me there's been any improvement.If you call them they almost always have to escalate the issue in order to provide an update and will still take their time with the application approval. I'm interesting in learning why companies still use this company for these services.

      Worst company ever! It has extended my background check 3 different times. I was suppose to start my new job today and now it extended another week. I call and they say theres nothing I can do to expedite it. I hope my job offer doesnt get rescinded. Ive cried all morning. This is an awful company I dont know why people use them for onboarding.
