    I filed the complaint for the company Prosperity One Financial Group. I believe it is mainly online, but is based in *******, ** not *********** I dont know where the company name came from as that is not what I put into the complaint.

    I hired ****** ****** with Prosperity 1fg to process and file my federal and state taxes for 2023. I paid a total of $449 for the package including an additional $99 for protection against audits, identity theft, etc. He worked quickly to complete and file my taxes, however did not pay much attention to detail as he submitted a 2022 W2 as part of my 2023 tax return causing both my federal and Utah state tax to go into a review. I kept in communication with ****** on the process from the end of March until the end of July. During that time he was pretty good, staying in communication, telling me this was part of the process and everything would be fine. In June I received a letter from ******************* stating they needed more time to review. At that point ****** looked back on the return and noticed the issue with the 2022 W2. I advised that I didn't work for the company in *********************************** sending it to him. I asked him to fix the taxes and submit the necessary amendment. He advised to wait until the review was completed. In August ****** Stopped responding. He had an out of office on his email stating he was on bereavement. I gave him a few weeks then reached out again with no response. After a month of trying to get a hold of him his out of office changed to reflect he would not be back until January 5. At this point it was October, I still had not received my federal or my Utah tax return. ****** was not responding and he left no backup to take care of his clients. I filed a complaint on Thumbtack which was the app in which I found and hired him. They could not get in touch with him either and I was advised he would be removed from their site until my complaint was resolved. Its now January - I finally got by fed tax return only because they corrected the issue and sent it. Still don't have my state, ****** cancels any meetings I try to set up and won't answer any of my emails. He has not completed the contract. I need a TC 40 amendment.
