My name is *********************** and I live in the *********** Apartments in *********, in DeKalb County, **. I am in the middle of a dispute with the landlord. I was working with CBS 46 Reporter Bobeth *****. She was gracious enough to help me move from a moldy, leaky roof apartment to a new location in December 2019. I was so happy and ready to put the painful memories behind me. But then the onslaught continued. First, I was inundated with roaches and I had to set off 27 ***** bombs in the apartment. Then, I had to endure a rickety patio with the railing loose and the boards about to collapse with me on it at any minute. Then, my ceiling got flooded twice in one day from the tenant above from their leaky dishwasher. Next, my light fixture just fell down while I was eating lunch with no provocation. The landlord took over a month to fix it and I even had to call the cops on her to get her regional managers name and she gave me a fake one. So she lied to a cop. Then, I told her about my bathroom sink and tub peeling and cracking and paint chips just streaming down the drain every time I took a shower. It started from a small crack and now it turned it to a big mess. I was so embarrassed because I had a guest staying with me for Easter. I begged her to fix it on 3 occasions, most recently in December 2021 and April 12th, last week, and she refused to do so without charging me $300. My rent just went up to $1176 and this is substandard housing. They fixed the outside, I believe after the CBS46 news stories, but now they are abusing me again. I have nowhere to go because the rent is so high everywhere due to the Covid 19 pandemic. I really need your help.Im a veteran. I have lived here since 2011. I have paid my rent on time every month since 2015. Yet my rent goes up yearly. When I ask for the simplest maintenance repair, they go unheard. I have photos and videos of everything. Here are a few. The cracks show before and after. Please help.
