I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate incident that occurred at a local restaurant that has left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. On March 10, 2023, I visited The Last Resort Grill with a gift card that I had purchased for my daughter. The gift card did not have an expiration date printed on it, and I assumed that I could use it at any time.However, when I tried to use the gift card at the restaurant, I was told by the manager that they were no longer accepting gift cards. The manager told me that they had changed their policy and did not provide further details. I was shocked and upset by this news, as I had spent my hard-earned money on the gift card and had planned on using it before my daughter graduated from ************************* and moved away from Athens. I asked the manager if there was anything that could be done, but they refused to honor the gift card or provide a refund. I was also not allowed to have the gift card back to use as evidence that it was a valid card purchased directly from the restaurant and had no expiration date.I believe that the restaurant's refusal to honor my gift card is a violation of their obligations as a business to provide fair and reasonable service to their customers. I was not notified of any changes to their policy regarding gift cards when I purchased it, and the gift card did not have an expiration date, leading me to believe that I could use it at any time.I respectfully request that you investigate this matter and take appropriate action against the restaurant.
