    I desperately need a functional outside electric receptacle, the house is older and has none. On a recommendation by a friend I called Stanfield Electric. He was available the next day to install it. He called me to confirm, and called just prior to arrival. I had to leave to take a neighbor to work, he insisted on payment by check as I was leaving, although I preferred credit card payment. He billed an hour and a half at $85 an hour for less than a half hour work. Another neighbor was sitting outside watching and informed me he had left minutes after I did. I returned exactly a half hour later to find the new receptacle box smeared thick with wet caulk. It was too cold for that to even cure properly and smeared to apparently hide the gap from not securing the face plate properly. This is a safety hazard as it needs be tight to be waterproof. Smearing caulk to hide the deficiency does not come close to acceptable work. I subsequently text him to ask him if the caulk was a substitute for tying it down~ this was his reply

    ~ I don't believe he had or has any intent on making this right. He claims to be "State Certified" but I couldn't verify that to put in a complaint against the license. The AG Consumer Protection website says NEVER pay for incomplete work. I paid the bank fee to stop payment on the check.
    I know have a safety hazard rather than an asset. $20.08 for the receptacle, $6.89 for the cover, $26.97 (?), $2.16 tax and $127.50 ( billed an hour and a half ) for less than a half hours shoddy, incomplete and dangerous "work".
    He had asked for pictures prior to arrival to assess the job and save "estimate fee". He ought to have what he needed, if not, come back prepared ~ not leave a 15 minute job unfinished and hazardous. I am not willing to pay until job is completeCriminal to take advantage in such a way.

    After several attempts, was able to make an appointment with Ms* ***** and co-worker to change out weatherproof receptacle box and cover at no cost to customer. This issue should now be resolved.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.The business owner did apologize for the "misunderstanding" and did come out and complete the job at no cost. That is more than I asked for. I appreciate your consideration with this matter and rescind the original complaint.
