I purchased a rebuild transmission from them online and they shipped it to the transmission shop that did the work for me. It arrived bad straight out of the box. It got repaired and it went bad again a month later so I requested a refund and they agreed to send me my refund, but never did and now they will not answer any of my messagesInitial Complaint

In January of 2024 I purchased a stage 2 built transmission from mad dog transmissions. After installing it it failed 300 miles later. I called around 20 times in a week until I was able to finally speak to a representative who made the failure out to be my fault. I was later able to get the unit warranted around 1.5 weeks later. After installing the second unit I noticed that it did not function correctly as it did not have tourqe converter lockup. I called multiple times and was told that a replacement part was sent. It never was witch I found out a week later as it was to be overnighted. I was told that there would be another sent and it also never was received. I then took and purchased my own and got it correctly functioning. Then Friday April 5th the unit completely failed. I contacted them and they refused helpingInitial Complaint

We Purchased a transmission for my 2016 GMC Yukon. One we recieved it my father and husband installed it. We never moved the vehicle and had it towed to a ***** dealership to have it all programmed like they Maddog told us to. Once it was all programmed The Mechanic took it for a test drive and said something was wrong with it. After looking into it he found the pump INSIDE the new transmission was bad causing it not to work correctly and to overheat. We contacted ****** and they told us the pump being broke was our fault and they would not stand behind their warranty. ************ even talked to them and told them there was no way that we could have broke the pump since it's internal. They even argued with the mechanic. We ended up having to buy a new pump and had a transmission ************ it only to find RUST SCRAPES AND GOUGES out of the Pump and in the Torque Converter which we were told were new with the transmission. We have now had to replace the Torque Converter and the pump plus $600 in fluid because of this. They DO NOT STAND behind their warranty and they will blame you for anything being wrong even though when taken apart it clearly shows it was not our wrong doing.Business Response

The transmission was installed by the husband and the father. They didn't install it properly and broke the pump. Rather than send it back to us to have ** change the pump they had someone locally change the pump, which voided their warranty. Not to mention, the transmission wasn't properly gone through when they had someone else change the pump so they ended up having trouble with the drum due to the damage caused by the pump breaking. When we told them that it was not properly gone through to make sure no other damage was caused by the pump being broken and since they had someone else change the pump they voided the warranty, that they should have just sent it back to us and we would have done it right, the father proceeded to cuss at us and threaten to come down here and destroy our shop.Initial Complaint

i purchased a transmission from this company . paid $2000.00 and the transmission was said to have been fully rebuilt . the truck i was putting the transmission in took me alittle over a year to build . i took the truck home from my mechanics shop two weeks ago put less than a 120 miles on the transmission and used reverse maybe 6 times and the reverse gear is gone . vehicle no longer goes into reverse . i contacted them told them what issue was and they said sorry , they want me to pay shipping back to shop of transmission and pay for shop work on fixing their faulty transmission and pay for shipping back to me. totally unacceptable to advertise building custom performance transmissions in order for them to fail so quickly . the first transmission they shipped me was received with a broken belhousing. i guess they threw another one together quickly put a crappy paint job on it and sent it out to me . it is unacceptable for a transmission selling as rebuilt to fail after 120 miles . my mechanic said anyone can look at the transmission i have from them and see that it has barely any miles on it.Initial Complaint

Purchased a Dominator 700R4 on April 14, 2023. Received trans a few weeks later. Installed trans a few weeks later in late June. After hooking up trans we noticed the tail housing yoke was jiggling and leaking fluid. Trans shifts from 1-2, and 2-3 ok, but rough going into 4th. Does not downshift in Overdrive nor does it downshift back to 1st upon slowing down. Multiple adjustments made with the cable, nothing works. Have tried calling Mad Dog no less than 12 times over 4 days and get the complete runaround from ******** saying "*** has been sick, *** is coming into the office but you just missed him, etc., etc.". Have been told 8x that they would have *** call us back, no response. Care is still well within the warranty period of 1-year but they refuse to stand behind their product and their work. I now question if the internal workings of the new transmission are even what they advertised and promised, and what I actually paid for, which is a Stage 2 trans capable of handling up to 800 hp. They are avoiding the calls and accountability.Business Response

******** is my manager and handles all of this. The customers mechanic called several times and spoke with ******** said he was having issues setting the *************** ****** Cable for a 700R4 is what tells the transmission to shift and down shift. If it is not set right it will not shift right or downshift right. The customer declined to purchase the ** Cable we use and got one on his own. His mechanic described the ** Cable was purchased and it was not the same style we use. The transmission is burnt up now due to the issues with the ** cable not being set properly. We even agreed to send the customer one of our ** Cables at no charge, so that he will have a good ** cable put on it. As far as the yoke having to much play, that could be the yoke itself that is having issues. The seals on the tail housing do not typically leak or have play in them. The customer was doing a conversion with a Pontiac 461 vehicle/engine and putting in a ***** transmission. There are often little kinks that need to be worked out when doing this kind of conversion as it is 2 different setups. We went against our terms of warranty and agreed to just send a totally different transmission to the customer before we even got the original one back and was able to open it and see what happened to it. The new transmission was already been sent to the customer and is at the delivery terminal waiting for residential delivery. We also went against our warranty terms and went ahead and paid shipping for the return of the failed transmission and sending the new one. The failed transmission arrived to us earlier this morning and was opened up by one of my builders. The transmission is smoked inside from the ** Cable not being set properly. So in the end we lost all the way around in this situation. The customer got a brand new transmission and we paid the shipping and the failure was due to improper instillation. We still had no intention on trying to go back and forth with the customer to try to collect any shipping we paid or for any repairs to the transmission which is does state in our warranty that the customer is responsible for if the failure is due to improper instillation. I have attached our warranty so that you can see our terms of service.Initial Complaint

Bought a transmission from maddog on 3-29-22. ******** called after purchase and asked for year, make, model, and ssked for shipping charge. It was delivered on 4-13-22. Put transmission in would not go in gear found out they sent me the wrong one and did have the one I needed. So I sent back there transmission and mine to be rebuilt. They shipped it back around 4-23-22. Put that one in it wouldn't go into overdrive. We emailed back and forth from 4-28-22 to 5-13-22. They sent me parts to change out to try to fix it, but tha didn't work. They sent me another on 6-7-22. Put that one in on 6-19-22 it worked as it should. I put a few hundred miles on it and put it up to do some work on it. Got it done went to drive it around transmission started slipping. They had it picked up on 5-8-23 and said they found the core they got was bad. Built another one sent it out on 5-22-23. Put it in got a couple hundred miles on it and it lost all gears. From 6-19-23 to today been getting the run around saying owner was not there or he would call me back and never does. Finally talked to ******** today and was told it was my problem. That it was out of warranty.Initial Complaint

I paid the full amount of $4,525.00 for this Stage 4 1000HP Destroyer 6L80E transmission.I had to have this transmission that I received from ******************** rebuilt three times through their warranty and after this third time I received it on 2/27/23, I discovered that it had used parts in this transmission I made a list of the parts that they guaranteed and assured me that these parts that they advertise is what is in my transmission I have emails and phone calls which was far from the truth of what I found in the transmission. I just want my money back due to finding that the parts they advertise and said they put in this transmission are not installed and has stock or used stock parts in this transmission they are missing the **** RED EAGLE CLUTCHES, new bushings, bearings, it is supposed to have a 45 tooth billet intermediate shaft to fit the advertised **** RED EAGLE POWER GLIDE CLUTCHES AND ALSO MISSING THE base plate and custom machined 4-5-6 piston (power glide clutches are 45 tooth..This also did not have the billet pump rotor and had all old transmission fluid and no assemble grease in this unit. This is missing all of the "performance parts" and has used/stock.I can attach/send or post the rest of the documents and supporting details including, pictures, videos, emails, messages, phone calls in regards to this.
