I have had them ******* my yard for years. In the last few months we have had multiple spots show up completely dead and brown. We assumed they would know if something was wrong and would let us know. We were only ever informed its hot outside and it is known to have dry spots. In June 2025 we laid down new sod in the backyard and was told we had to let it set before getting it *******d. We messaged them and informed them we needed to cancel the June ******* and would let them know when we needed anything. In June we messaged them after it was 3 weeks laid down, and requested *******s again as our new sod has settled in. They came out in July and *******d our yard. Again never said anything about the yard and the dead spots. I messaged them requesting them to take a look as it has started to get worse and it was more spots popping up and did not look like dry grass from heat they said they would send someone out - weeks went by and no one came out so we finally contacted a new company to come out and take a look - we were informed that we have active bugs that are eating our grass away under bloom warranty they cover the sod if it dies from active bugs I contacted them and they told me too bad because I canceled their *******s - meanwhile the bugs happened ON THEIR SERVICES, AND I CANCELED BECAUSE THEY WERE NO SHOWS!

      Business Response

      Dear Better Business Bureau,
I am writing in response to the complaint filed by [****** *.], received on [8-25-2025], regarding lawn maintenance services and a warranty dispute. We value customer feedback and are committed to addressing concerns professionally. Below, I provide a detailed timeline and explanation of events, supported by attached documentation, to clarify our position.

Ive attached: 2 notes detailing my concern April 7th 2025.  I have often had to address poor lawn conditions in spring as there is a pattern to these spots popping up. Additionally you'd find a note from spring 2023 showing a warning for same circumstances.

Ive attached:  Complainant asking us to cancel "services" (plural meaning reoccurring) with no further explanation to us.  Clean break.  I got fired May 29 2025 * Warranty Voided

**** did not have any treatment, complainant didn't reach back out until **** 26 2025 with the first mention of adding more grass and wanted to start service again.

We started a new service July 7th

July 21 complainant requested a service call which is free check up and we schedule them according to our nearest availability.

I've attached: Complainant became upset that we weren't able to accommodate anything until we sent a schedule confirmation for August 8.  August 3rd is  when we sent a notification of our visit for August 8.  Between rain delays and a dermatology procedure that had me out for a few days, I surely let the complainant down not making it out there quicker,  for which I was fired.

I've attached:  August 8 2025 my second text received by the complainant notifying me of my termination and replacement.

The main dispute came after she fired me, and then a day later decided to hold us to a warranty program that we only offer to active customers. We do not continue any warranty for non active customers.  I believe the accountability lies in the repeated , drought, heat stress and irrigation faults in early spring that I've documented,  like clock work the symptoms appear.  I did notify those concerns despite the customers false claims saying otherwise.  The lapse in treatment for **** was also a cause for concern as chinch bug season is in full swing.  I supposed we are to understand the complainant's  reasoning of firing your lawn maintenance company until new sod is established,  but I honestly had no reason to do so. Lastly, the order in which the complainant decided to make a warranty dispute was clearly outside of agreed terms. Warranty was voided.

Thank you for your attention to detail in this dispute, and for holding small business accountable.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: we never received ANY emails from them with ANY pictures or concerns on their end regarding dry/dead grass. We received our bills from them and on the bills never shows photos or any concerns from them stating we needed to water or not water the yard. They attached stuff from 2023 for my concerns and firing them in 2025. MY GRASS WAS NOT DEAD FOR 2 years. It just recently started dying as I requested them to come out and take a look. They responded fast, and said they would come out. To NO RESPONSE AFTERWARDS about coming to check the dying grass it was WEEKS later that I canceled their services to the lack of them caring our grass was dying and has continued to show my spots that WERE not from heat or not watering they emailed me AS THEY ALWAYS EMAIL ME regarding their MONTHLY services on the 7th WITH IS THEIR DATE EVERY MONTH NEVER EMAILED ME ABOUT COMING TO A LOOK AT THE ISSUE. Their system AUTOMATICALLY sends us a notification of our monthly scheduled service. NEVER said they would be coming out on a certain day to take a look at the complaints from dead grass. WE INFORMED THEM WE WOULD BE FIRING THEM AS WE NEVER GOT ANYONE TO COME OUT AFTER WE REQUESTED THEM TO AND THAT WE WOULD BE LOOKING INTO A COMPANY TO COME OUT AND CHECK THE DEAD SPOTS. WE INFORMED THEM WE HAD SOMEONE COMING THE NEXT DAY SINCE THEY COULDNT SEEM TO MAKE IT OUT AND FIX THE ISSUE THAT WAS CONTINUING TO GET WORSE.
I have also informed them INSTANTLY after the company came out that we had ACTIVE BUGS that have been there eating our grass away which I requested replacement of our dead sod PER THEIR WARRANTY. We have had services with this company for over 2 years and we NEVER had bugs before. Yes we had dry spots due to Florida heat as normal and we never complained to them or asked for a replacement due to Florida heat. We know the difference between Florida heat dry spots and something wrong with the yard and this was THEIR fault for not caring for my yard properly. I sent them proof of this from the new company who came out and inspected our grass INSTANTLY, after they failed to do their job.
they need to replace my yard or they can refund me for the months of APRIL MAY AND JULY.. since I paid them for services they clearly werent providing properly as I had bugs that are my yard away and itll cost me A WHOLE LOT MORE than just the 3 months Im requesting to replace all the grass the bugs ate away.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *******
