      I hired this business/business owner in May of 2025 for an a/c repair. He claimed to carry multiple licenses (electrical, plumbing, General Contractor, Auto Repair). He has done much work in the community in which we both reside based on postings on the community ******** page. He claimed that my a/c handler was not under warranty because it was located in the garage and the manufacturer does not provide warranties for parts located under roof (a complete lie perpetrated in order to take my money). He overcharged me for an a/c motor by $2300 and attempted to justify the charge through lying about the part and creating a receipt for a expensive commercial part that cost more than t$2,300 than the part that he actually installed. Further investigation revealed that 1. My a/c was and is under warranty (all of it) for 10 years total, 5 years remaining; 2. The part that was installed was an OEM part (as opposed to the expensive part listed on the receipt) and the cost of the part is actually $212. 3. He attempted to cover his tracks by altering the original receipt provided to show an OEM part (vs. the expensive part on the original receipt), and a total charge of about $2,000 less than was actually paid to him.; 4. Though he altered the receipts, he made NO attempt to refund the $2,000 difference.; and, 5. He does not hold a single license of any type in the State of *******. In summary, he charged me $2828 for a job that should have cost no more than $200-$400 in services fees according to 2 other actually licensed a/c repair service providers that I consulted. When confronted with the overcharge, and inaccurate receipts, and misinformation relating to the warranty, rather than attempt to correct the situation, he threatened to sue for defamation of business character. Ive learned this is a common response from him in reviewing on line ****** reviews relating to the car repair portion of his unlicensed business activities.

      We have tried to make things right with the customer, but we feel that she will never be happy and is attempting to get the job for free by making frivolous complaints. We are in the process of filing a defamation suit this Monday against the customer.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The individual that owns and runs this "handyman" business is one of the most dishonest individuals that I have ever encountered. He has multiple complaints against him with the ****************************** and Professional Regulation for performing regulated services without a license. He literally stole over $2,000 from me by inflating the cost of a part for an a/c repair. He also lied about the status of my warranty. He provided me a receipt (only after chasing him for it for over a week) that lists an expensive commercial part in order to justify his charge to me. He then altered his receipt to me to show a more reasonable cost of $842 which includes sales tax (I don't believe he pays sales tax). Still overpriced but closer to normal. And he never refunded the difference in what I paid ($2828) and what he adjusted his receipt to show. Also, he has acquired a 3rd receipt from an actual ********** in answer to a **** complaint relating to his lack of licensure. This receipt is completely fabricated as I never have done business with this company and never paid this company. He may have hired them himself to do the actual work but I did not pay that company, nor did I authorize that company to do the work, and I never received the receipt he had them create. There are no details as to part numbers on this third receipt and the amount is again different ($680). The actual part that was replaced should have cost me about $200 if it had not been under warranty - but it was under warranty so all I needed to pay was the cost of service. He tells these agencies (including the BBB) that he attempted to resolve the issue with me, but that is as far from the truth as it can get. In fact, when I confronted with what I discovered, he threatened me with a defamation lawsuit I believe in an attempt to intimidate me. In addition to threatening me personally, I have read other on line reviews where he responds with threats of lawsuits. He thinks this will deter people from posting negative complaints or filing reports of his unscrupulous business activities but what he doesn't understand is that "defamation" suits would require him to prove that the customer is lying. I think that's why he tries to get away without providing receipts. Luckily I insisted on getting a receipt from him - although completely inaccurate as to the part he installed and the money involved, it is documented proof of what he did. Additionally, I have copies of bank receipts showing what I paid him. I have text communications that took place that also support my claims. Any response that he provides verbally or in writing that claims otherwise are complete untruths. I advise anyone who comes across this business to run away as fast as possible.
