My daughter had an appointment for a cleaning and was charged for an x ray and exam visit. I called and was initially told that the charge was for x rays and then when they called me back, they told me that it was because her teeth needed a deeper cleaning and that she was overcharged. I asked for them to refund her the money she was charged and not to submit the claim as an x ray and exam as we do not like Dr Marouf and we go elsewhere for dental work and that visit would not be covered because of their incorrect billing. I was then told that I have a balance of $30 from a office visit in 2020 and when I asked why they had not sent me a bill, I was told that it was because of COVID. I understand the COVID issue but almost a year and a half later and still not sent a bill is unacceptable.

My biggest concern is that my daughter had turned 18 between visits and they did not have her sign any paperwork for them to discuss anything with me, which they did, nor did they explain to her what the charge was for or. I am not sure if HIPPA laws apply to Dentists but this is unprofessional and unacceptable.

I have contacted my Insurance provider to try and get the claim rejected and they are looking into it to resolve.

The resolution would be, for them to bill timely and accurately and to kindly refund my daughter the overcharge and finally send me a bill for the 2020 visit.
