RUN DON'T WALK, away from this company! We recently sold our home in Orlando and needed to sell our furniture, so we contacted Tudor Estate Sales. First meeting, the owner was gruff and impolite. He explained the process and we used TES even though it wasn't pleasant. BIG MISTAKE! What went wrong: 1) Communication was horrible! Can't leave a message: mailbox is always full. Texting was mostly ignored until days later with one-word replies. 2) If I had questions I was told, "it's in the contract". 3) We were told that he would bring in some items from other sales, but what was brought in was tacky/ugly old purses, hats and other garage sale type stuff. 4) The stager was a very nice gentleman and was the only redeeming element in the whole process. 5) By contract, we were to receive payment and full inventory of what sold within 2-4 weeks of our sale. After the full 4 weeks, we inquired about payment, but owner had multiple excuses and kept telling us, he'd send payment at the end of the week. 6) When we finally received the first payment, it was many thousands less than anticipated and was nowhere near a full accounting of what was sold. (And was over a month past contracted obligation date). 7) When questioned a piece which sold during the sale but was not in the inventory, the owner got angry. 8) Owner backtracked and recanted, but took another month to resolve payment. He took 35% not 25% as though it was sold post sale. 9) The initial prices placed on furniture etc, felt high but we anticipated he would bargain. 10) The prices he sold for our furniture were ridiculous! Our Dining room mahogany table (granted had a bad scratch) with 6 chairs in excellent condition was listed as sold for $75. We could easily have sold it at a garage sale for more. I believe that this company/owner is unprofessional at best and a total scammer. The process was painful! I would highly recommend selling your belongings any other way, including donating, before using this company!
