            I recently learned that I was the target of a scam to consolidate student loan debt. Since January 2021, I have made payments totaling approximately $1830 that have done nothing to reduce my student debt or obligations. I have sent correspondence cancelling my policy and filed complaints with the BBB and FTC. I am concerned that the fraudulent company is going to demand additional fees and file reports impacting my credit status.

            This company did not disclose that they are a 3rd party company who charges people to consolidate their federal student loans. Consolidation is FREE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. CALL STUDENT AID OR GO TO STUDENTAID.GOV INSTEAD. ***** ****** had me spell out my email, then made a request to change my FSA ID without my knowledge or permission. He then had me go into my email to give him the secure code. He then had the ability to access my Federal Student Aid account and had all my information. He led me to believe he was a representative of Federal Student Aid which is a U.S. Gov't agency.

            Every phone call is greeted with the name of our company FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN DOC PREP. I listened to this consumers recording and no where did ***** indicate that we are Federal Student aid or any government agency for that matter. ***** asked permission to access your information at which you gave authorization to do so, so he could give you a proper evaluation of your loans and benefits. We are a document preparation company that exist the exact same way as H & R Block does for taxes that we can all do for free as well. What amazes me is that these consumers have had there current student loans for some time now and to dial a number that takes you to a live agent is obviously not your loan holder, which they should be aware of at this point. Companies like ours are here because of loan holders like Navient who do not disclose these programs that have been free to all student loan borrowers since 2007. You called our company not our company soliciting you.
