I recently learned that I was the target of a scam to consolidate student loan debt. Since January 2021, I have made payments totaling approximately $1830 that have done nothing to reduce my student debt or obligations. I have sent correspondence cancelling my policy and filed complaints with the BBB and FTC. I am concerned that the fraudulent company is going to demand additional fees and file reports impacting my credit status.

I paid $350 for their services and haven't heard anything from anyone. I tried emailing the representative who sent me the first email, but cannot reach anyone. That was back in January!

I was contacted this morning from one phone number and a complete different gentleman then the gentleman that contacted me on his private phone because once we were connected by the first gentleman he said he could no longer hear me.I gave out a lot of personal information to so call confirm the information that he had and he also knew the amounts of money that I had in Federal student loan by Navient. Upon being put on hold ask a different question confirming my address how much I made how I file my taxes if I had checks stubs and was told the amount of money that I was to pay first he said that I had complete loan forgiveness then he turned right back around in the next sentence and said I only had half and I had up to 10 years to pay a zero balance and to stay in communication with your company to make sure I didn't have to pay anything. So after we talked and discussed paperwork being arms sent out and two different payments of 175 and then all of a sudden an extra $25 he made me think more rationally when he began to ask for my credit card information and if I paid a payment today then I could waive a fee. I just wanna inform others before they even give out their information to not even entertain the conversation because now I feel my personal information is at risk a fraudulent activity.I want this document it so that no one else will fall victim I don't have any money to throw away and I definitely have the time or headache To give to anyone. I have five children three in college and a grandbaby and currently by myself please if you could advise me or anyone I can contact to make sure that my personal information will be secured and do something about these people thank you.

They contacted me- requested $500 to help me "prep" my loan consolidation docs. I sent them everything April 21st in one envelope. They then continued to harass me in phone calls and texts (which I gave them no authorization that they could text me- ever)- they claimed they lost "one document"- even though it was with all the other papers- and they seemed to receive those no problem. I requested that they stop texting and calling me and email me only. On 6/14 I sent them AGAIN the lost document. On 6/28 I received a letter that was dated 6/21 that I was declined for their services. I emailed them- requesting a refund, and she informed me, rudely, that I was approved and they were still processing it. But the dates are not lining up. I want a full refund and I am demanding they do not call or text me- as they have no authorization on my end to do so.

      Business response

      08/03/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/06/29) */ First off, Consumer called our company as we do not outbound solicit no one. Client called our company for assistance with his current Student loans. Client signed a contract which also went over exactly who we are, what we do, what we are charging and why. Client was introduce to his case manager and then we mailed out his documents that we prepared for him with a return envelope to Fedloan Servicing, his new loan holder. Client did mail out his documents directly to Fedloan Servicing and not our company. Upon receiving the documents with Fedloan, we have kept him updated and he had no issues up until we were informed that Fedloan was missing his proof of income. WE explained to him numerous times of the matter and he then turned around and emailed us his proof of income at which we transmitted over to Fedloan for processing. His loans were consolidated and his income driven application is still in processing for his final determination of his new monthly payments. As I told this consumer thru numerous emails he sent, he is not receiving a refund because our service has been rendered, we are not the ones that lost any of his documents, we are the company he paid to assist him thru this process. He asked us to stop communicating with him and as of 6/29/21 at 11:26am EST we have. Texting is an option that he could have opted out of, but had no issues receiving our text messages up until we told him that we need additional information. ( months after signing up for our service) Consumer is not entitled to a refund per the contract he signed. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/06/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Regardless of any texting communication, there was no signed documenting opting me in to text communication. I even received an additional text message after I made it clear that they COULD NOT text me. All documented. Failure to halt texting after requesting to stop has a $500 fine per text message. Also, the services rendered were not completed. FedLoan Servicing is not able to provide me with any documentation or proof that my loan is consolidated. They only have the decline letter stated on 6/21 due to the lost documents that they refuse to take ownership for- even though it was all sent together. If they are a loan prep service- then I should not have to resend confidential information multiple times. I am requesting again, a reimbursement for $597- as I paid them three payments of $199. If they are unable to reimburse- I am requesting that they provide me FULL ACCESS to where I can locate my loan consolidation that has been "approved"- which it is not that I am aware of- and where I can see it online. Otherwise services were not rendered- as I had to submit documentation more than once, received letters that were dated AFTER sending my confidential information, received text messages AFTER telling them to stop, and still continue to get snarky replies from them.
