Hello BBB, my name is ***** ******** and I am a 30 year old Irish man with autism who bought an item from The Chain Gang on Monday, January 13th for a total of $64 and The Chain Gang did commit to provide me with the urethral sounds I bought from them recently and the nature of this dispute is for me politely asking The Chain Gang for a full refund on the urethral sounds and The Chain Gang aggressively telling me no refund and also aggressively telling me that they have submitted all of the information they have on me to the FCC (Federal Communication Commission) and they also threatened to contact my local police department if I send them one more email to them.Initial Complaint

I ordered the circle barbell and received an open "C" shaped barbell. I also found a scratch in it and was told I must have done that. The chain gang customer service was horrible and made no offer of replacement even though they didn't provide what I ordered.Business Response

The Customer ordered a custom made "Circular Ring" not a Circle Ring. The photo was shown that there is an opening in a circular ring. We do not accept items back after the product is opened because of the nature of the item being worn in Body Piercings, as it says on our guarantee.
We will not give anything further to this customer other then what they ordered.

I am rejecting this response because: The custom made circular barbell I received is not what was advertised on their website:***************************************************************** What I received is not what I ordered. If you look at the attached link, the picture shows an opening, a small gap between the bells of the circular barbell. The gap between the bells of my circular barbell is over 3/4 of an inch.

Business refuses to process a return of an item that is way too small. They claim being it is custom; they can’t take back the item to be remade or even be exchanged for something else.Business Response

Exactly as we told the customer. He ordered a custom made piece and was told at time of purchase that we do not exchange or refund custom made pieces.
No business that I know of does.
The customer ordered the wrong size, I am sorry but it is a custom made piece that we could not resell.

I am rejecting this response because: any business that provides customized orders; which has a customer that is dissatisfied with their purchase for whatever the reason might be should make every effort to make things right with the customer. Instead, the business has chosen to state the customer is wrong and is stuck with an item that can’t be used; whom is also out 162.00 because the business refuses to work with the customer.
Most businesses that deal with customized orders to where something isn’t correct or to a customer’s satisfaction, a business would make every attempt to either remake the product or provide some type of compensation.
So, to have both a President and a VP of a business completely refuse to make a customer satisfied with their purchase; the customer is considered wrong and has to be out money with a dissatifactory product.

After answering over 20 emails all the same way, and now the Better Business Complaint all trying to bully us to give him his way, maybe it is time he start shopping elsewhere. We have filled many orders for him over the past couple years without issue. But since he ordered the wrong size on a custom made piece, somehow that is our fault, and he chooses to not take responsibility for his own mistakes. I am not going to waste any more time on this because I will not be bullied into giving him his way.

I am rejecting this response because:now the business owner is saying I am bullying him into providing good customer service. This is a mark of a bad business owner and policies.
Lastly, as a business owner, the last thing that should be stated is someone should conduct their business elsewhere. It is very apparent why their social media ratings are 3.5 stars and less.

I made a $400 purchase with the chain gang. I get a notification saying it was delivered on a day that wasn’t scheduled and it wasn’t there. They won’t help me with anything. They just have said there is insurance on the package but here I am almost a month later and still nothing but a company saying they completed their end while I still have received nothing. I wasn’t there to sign here is my hard evidence. It’s faint but I even signed the paper with the forged signature so where is my refund or where is the post offices insurance in the situation because I’m still empty handed and $400 short.Business Response

This whole thing has been turned into a cluster---- by this customer.
We sent the customer his order and we even Insured it for the full amount. We also added signature confirmation as well at our expense.
When it was shipped the customer emailed us to complain that it was signature confirmation required. Why would someone complain about? There is only one reason that I can think of since the post office is only 4 miles away from him.
Then he said it was lost but the post office certifies it was delivered and has the Signature Confirmation to prove it. (attached)
Never the less we told him to file a claim on the insurance but he did not want to do that, so we filed the Insurance Claim on his behalf (attached) so now once that is settled he should receive the $400.00 claim money and he wants us to send it again too. Sorry but you do not get paid twice.
He said in the emails a big screen tv was stolen the same way before and Best Buy just replaced it, so it seems to happen a lot to him, and if this is a scam as we are very sure it is, then it is very simple to make sure that your signature does not look anything like your real one. That would explain the anger because of us requiring signature confirmation on a 400.00 order.
He also tried to get the money back from Paypal as well as us and the postal service. It would be great if we could get paid double for everything we buy but life does not work that way. Paypal also declined his requests.
Bottom line is you can not have the Insurance Money and the jewelry too.

Well I think his rejection says what we have been up against with this customer.
We filed the Postal Claim for him and the Postal Insurance money will go to him.
We are done with repeating this over and over. His problem is with the postal service since it was delivered. Maybe he should use UPS based on his problems.
This customer is no longer welcome to order from us at all and we welcome him to shop elsewhere in the future.

I’m not going to deny I started communications heated and very drunk to be real but as a representative of a company your supposed to be a whole other level of professional which you are far from. Also no you didn’t open a case or at least not until I escalated it and was called a liar. I had to open a case twice and ask for the post master general the second time all before you “opened a case”. Now I finally got the post office to put in words they fucked up. So stop calling me a liar. I had great business from gear essentials with absolutely no problems but unfortunately I believe they’re going under. I go to a bigger company and get spit on, called a liar and then told I’m not welcome back. Seriously I wanted to slowly grow a collection from y’all starting with one big order but instead I get a month of being hassled and given assumptions when I say it went wrong.
