I purchased a 2017 ********** Discovery from Discovery Auto Center in *****, ** on February 27, 2025. Within the first month, the vehicle has had major issues: the check engine light came on with three codes, I had to replace the alternator and a tire under warranty but still paid $500 out of pocket, and now the brake pads, rotors, and oil need servicing. The driver window stopped working, the airbag warning is on, and coolant is low.Despite all of this, the dealership only offered me $400 if I signed a waiver preventing me from taking legal action or speaking out. I owe $31,000 on this vehicle, and it was clearly sold to me in poor condition. I am requesting proper repairs, reimbursement of what Ive already paid, or a full buyback of the vehicle.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 04/24/2025

    Complaint: 23184986

I am rejecting this response because the dealership is hiding behind the As-Is clause, despite knowingly selling me an unsafe and defective vehicle. Florida law prohibits the sale of vehicles with known safety issues, and mine has multiplemost importantly, a non-functioning airbag system, making it a serious risk to drive.
Since the purchase on February 27, 2025, I have experienced repeated mechanical and electrical failures including:
An overheating engine with a leaking coolant system (diagnosed and verified by two shops)
    A non-operational drivers side window
    Brake system alerts
    An oil level sensor issue
A malfunctioning alternator replacement, which was installed improperly and never re-programmedcausing additional warning lights and fault codes
The extended warranty I paid for doesnt cover fittings or small components needed for repairs, so Ive now been quoted between $1,000 and $2,200 just to make the car safe and operable. This is after paying over $31,000 for the vehicle itself, plus fees and warranty coverage.
This dealership failed to disclose key information, misrepresented the condition of the vehicle, and is now refusing to take responsibility. I am continuing to file complaints and pursue legal options through consumer protection and my attorney if necessary.

    Sincerely,
    *** ******

I **** ********* purchased a used car from Discovery Auto Center on Sunday, February 9, 2025 (Salesman ***** *****). As part of this sale, I traded in my 2020 GMC Yukon. Per the agreement Discovery Auto Center was to pay off the Lien amount to *************** on the 2020 Yukon. As of todays date (2/20/25) this account has not been paid off and continues to accrue daily interest. As of today (2/20/25) the balance owed to *************** is $13,416.26. State of Florida law is dealership must payoff loan in 10 days. They need to immediately pay off this loan and any additional interest. Thank you.

Payoff quotes are good for 20 days as indicated on the payoff form guest signed. Payoff had already been sent within time frame. Apologies for any confusion, but we would have happily explained this to you had you called us first. Thank you again for your business.

On Wednesday, October 16,,2024 I test drove a car and thought I would like to buy it. I put $1000.00 deposit on the car, but did not sign anything stating that I would not receive my deposit if I didn't buy the car. They are refusing to return my deposit as I am buying a car from another dealer.

Hello. I'm unsure why we are receiving this complaint as this refund was processed days ago (See attached). We took vehicle offline for a couple days as a courtesy for guest with a refundable deposit. Guest had to complete refund in person due to type of payment and seemed like they had a very positive experience

I purchased a 2009 Bentley Continental GT on 6/13/24 from Discovery Auto Center LLC. I paid $47000 cash for it. After speaking with the sales person Gio about the vehicle. He stated that the car had no issues and sent me a copy of the Carfax. After reviewing the Carfax I decided to purchase the vehicle. Again I asked *** does the car have any issues, he clearly stated "no issues". I am a out of state customer. So I had to have the car delivered to ******************** ($1500). After receiving the car I noticed that it had a strut fault on the dashboard. I immediately contacted the Gio with my concerns. According to *** he didn't see it so he forwarded me to the sale manager. I explained my concerns with the sales manager. We decided I should take the car to a local independent mechanic in ***********. I took the vehicle to *******************. According to the shop it needed left front ***** Strut and Upper control arms which cost $3884.04. ( The car radio doesn't work or the lights on the doors and ceiling). I contacted the sale manager and forwarded the receipt. He stated that I would be compensated but now he won't return my phone call. I would like for them to pay for the repairs.

April 2024 I purchased a $50,000 vehicle from Discovery Auto (online).Vehicle ********* ***** was delivered with a sunroof that NEVER opened (was broken)Called the company talked to the manager, went to ******** got a quote ($200 out of my pocket)Bill to fix sunroof $4,000 Discovery Auto refused to fix it and offered me $600 Vehicle was sold knowing that the sunroof was broken!!!!!!!How do you sell someone something broken and refuse to fix it When dealing with this dealership be very careful.............

    Business Response

I'm sorry about the issues you're having with the sunroof, Lovest. Please see the attached Buyers Guide you signed accepting the vehicle AS-IS.

    Complaint: 21881917

I am rejecting this response because:

When I purchased the vehicle(online) I was told that everything was working fine and that there were no issues with the vehicle. To sell someone a vehicle knowing that there is something broken and not tell the person is what I would call a "DECEPTIVE PRACTICE"

When I bought the car "AS IS" that was with the understanding that everything had been checked out and was working fine.(at the time of purchase) Your company knew the sunroof was broken and did not tell me, and then to offer me $600 on a $4,000 bill is a insult.

If anyone buys from this dealer you are working with a company that will not stand behind it's product and are very deceptive about how they sell vehicles.

    Sincerely,

    ***************************

On January, 12, 2024, I sent via email to *********************** at Discovery Auto a request to cancel my vehicle service contract. On February 12, 2024, since *********************** would not respond to emails, answer telephone calls or return messages, I contacted **************** They informed me that *************** did not receive our cancellation request after submitting it Discovery Auto a month prior. Given the length of time, *************** permitted me to send it directly to them. As a result, I received the attached notification that they have approved my cancellation request and forwarded it to Discovery Auto for them to issue a refund check on February 22, 2024. On February 26, 2024, I contacted *********************** and left a voicemail message with inquiry as to when a check would be issued. To date, I have not received a response. On February 29, 2024, I sent an email to ************, General Manager, also with no response. To date, I have not received my refund nor have I received any information of it being processed. I contacted the dealership over their listing of a ******** 2020 GLE. Was told by ***** there were no issues with the vehicle it was serviced in March 2023.I was also told it was easy to get cars shipped to you. I bought it from out of state. My husband ended up having to catch a flight to ******* to pick it up and drive it SC because we couldnt get it transported.Upon arrival my husband was informed that the aux battery needed replacement, was on recall. So basically come to find out the car had 8 active recalls, to the tune of $20,000 in repairs. Thankfully Still under warranty so its being sorted. The dealership misrepresented when it was serviced which was last serviced 2/22/22 and they declined service from the ******** dealership on 3/27/23 when I called ***************** to confirm, and there is a rodent problem under the hood. To the tune of $1000 in damages. I think discovery auto of ***** knew about the recalls chose to not have it serviced in March, lied stating it was serviced. I of course at the time of purchase didnt think I needed to call the dealership and actually follow up if it was actually serviced. The fradulent misrepresentation of the car doesnt require knowledge of the rodent damage. You cant say the car is in purchasable condition and good as new and not atleast pop the hood and check it over. When I purchased as is, I purchased what was being represented to me via the dealership and the paperwork provided. Which was it had been recently serviced and no issues with the vehicle. I picked vehicle up on 6/21/23 Booked an appt at the ******** dealership on 6/22/23 for their earliest appt which was 6/26/23 where the car has been since. All of the recalls are being repaired the issue that dicorvery auto ***** needs to resolve is the rodent damage that they would have been aware about had they done a recent 12 pt inspection. Either was misrepresentation is still fraud.

I found a 2019 ******** GLS 63 AMG online at Discovery Auto Center. Pictures of the vehicle on the website showed a pristine vehicle with no signs of damage whatsoever. My representative reached out to the dealership to find out if there were any issues not seen in the pictures, as we live out of state and would be buying sight unseen. Pictures of the car were requested to be taken showing any damage. We were told there was a small chip on the bumper but otherwise the car was like "brand new." The sales rep sent pictures showing the extent to make sure I was ok with it. With his assurance I elected to proceed with purchase of the vehicle for $73,695.65. Upon arrival the car was found to have significant defects on the interior well beyond normal wear and tear that were not disclosed prior to purchase. After almost 2 days of trying to reach the *** my representative was told that the care was purchased "As Is" and declined to provide a refund for the vehicle. I tried to reach out to the ** multiple times over the course of 3 days and was unable to get a response. This car was purchased solely because of the fraudulent misrepresentation of the vehicle by Discovery Auto Center. If defects had been disclosed, no purchase agreement would have been entered in under any circumstance.

    Customer Answer

    Complaint: 20147585

I am rejecting this response because:

As is does not give a license to commit fraud.  I made a specific request for information regarding any observable damage. In response, the sales representative provided photos that conveniently excluded significant interior defects. Furthermore, the damage present within the interior surpassed what could be considered as normal wear and tear, and it is inconceivable that a reasonable individual would fail to disclose such issues. The agreement was signed with the assurance that there were no other defects. The deliberate omission of these problems undermines my trust and raises concerns that other known issues may have been intentionally concealed.

    Sincerely,

Dear all,I spoke with a sales person (********) about a vehicle I would like to purchase from Discovery Auto, it was a 2017 *** X5.I applied for finance on the vehicle, unfortunately I was declined unless I had a cosigner or large deposit.I spoke with ******* (Financial Director) who suggested a cosigner would greatly increase my chance of approval, this was on May 15th at ****pm. I sent a message to ******* on May 16th at 08:24am and was advised he was out and ***** (GM) sent through the application for my wife to apply. My wife applied for finance and I subsequently advised ***** that she had sent through the application. I heard nothing back despite several attempts. I called in again to be advised by a salesman (*****) that the vehicle actually sold the night before. So both my wife and I sent in applications for no reason, had our credit affected with hard searches and nobody to bother telling us the vehicle had sold!Furthermore, I don't see how a vehicle sold between 8pm and 8am without the Finance director nor GM knowing about this! Why is it allowed for someone else to quickly purchase a vehicle mid-deal, leaving us without any options and a worsened credit record.I have been trying to get hold of ***** all day via multiple phone calls and text message and have had no response!I think this sort of cowboy behavior should not be tolerated and there should be a fair resolution from the business!I would expect at a minimum that each search on our reports (7 of them!) should be removed and Discovery should make this effort.

Unfortunately without purchased paperwork or funds in house, we are unable to hold a vehicle. Spoke with guest about searching for a similar option and still hope to work together.

The vehicle was denied By infinity of ***** when it was shipped here due to the buildup of sludge and non maintenance your business knowingly sold me a non working vehicle. I not only had 2 years left of the power train warranty from the original warranty but I also purchased the extended warranty through your business discovery auto center.
