              Sunbelt Title Company was hired for a residential house sale and on 10/03/22, Sunbelt mistakenly paid off the wrong mortgage. They admitted fault and we have been patient as they have repeatedly promised to correct their mistake. We have suffered financially, and emotionally. No one knows how to undo this mistake and they have demonstrated a lack of good faith to solve this mess.This company should be fined and lose their license to practice - not for the mistake but for their unwillingness to fix it.****** and *************************

              Not sure how often this happens when a house is sold. My realtor picked this business to handle the transfer of the title of an inherited property. Everything went well up until the very end. SunBelt was not entirely at fault; it was mainly where the mortgage of the inherited property was with. On closing day, all funds had been dispersed to lien holders and seller. The day after closing, I received a phone call from SunBelt stating that the mortgage company declined the initial payoff statement amount they had sent over on 12/19. (We had closed on 1/9, the payoff statement said the amount was good until 1/16/24.) SunBelt called the mortgage company and had another payoff amount provided. I was asked by SunBelt to wire back the difference to satisfy the lien, which cost me $25.00 out of my own pocket. I find the mortgage company to be at the biggest fault but feel as though SunBelt did not handle this correctly either.
