We had AC/DC SOLAR install solar panels on our home summer of 2022 and were very pleased with installation and the credits we received on our monthly electric bills. The past 3 months bills (Nov,Dec 2023, Jan ****) have gone up dramatically ($250-$300) from FPL and it seems that we may need repairs on the solar panel system. I have tried a number of times to contact the customer service with ********************, but have had no response. The only contact I have had was a text from a girl, *****, asking for a review to new customers, trying to get more business. I just want our system repaired and to have the confidence that it is actually working. We financed the cost of the system ($77,000) through a company Mosaic Loan Servicing.Business Response

1 year ago , AC/DC solar installed a 14KWh solar system claiming that I would not incur any energy cost from my local electric provider since I live in *******.I have the unit producing the expected amount of energy according the monitoring app, but I keep getting charged for additional energy from my electric provider here in Tamp (Duke). When I contacted *********** they clearly pointed out that they were not receiving the right amount of energy my unit was producing. I tried reaching out to AC/DC multiple times over the course of the year and they have stopped returning my calls.Business Response

Dear ***************************,
We appreciate your patience and understand your concerns regarding the solar system we installed and the energy charges you've been incurring from ************ We want to assure you that the system is functioning optimally as designed.
Our records confirm that the system has indeed produced more than the estimated ***** kWh annually, demonstrating its efficiency and capability, per the systems monitoring portal, which access has been given to you as the system owner.
We usually base our proposal off one full year of consumption, this is the best available method to accurately determine system size, but since its a new construction and you had recently moved in, consumption estimates came from 2 utility bills available at the time. We acknowledge that actual consumption can vary depending on usage patterns.
It was explained at the point of sale that the usage estimate should be adjusted after a full year of usage adding more panels if necessary.
We assure you that the solar system is operating efficiently and there are no issues with its production capability. We are committed to your satisfaction and are here to assist with any further clarifications or to explore additional ways to optimize your energy savings. Please do not hesitate to reach out for further assistance at ********************

We received solar panel's for our roof per an agreement made with ********************* from AC/DC solar in 2020. We knew our roof was damaged from a hurricane and we were waiting to resolve this with our insurance company. AC/DC Solar assured us that if we proceeded with AC/DC Solar they would agree to remove and reinstall the solar at NO Charge within 5 years of the agreement. This was put in writing. We are just now getting a new roof put on within the next few weeks and will need our solar panels removed. AC/DC solar provided a quote at approx. $8,000 back in Nov. 2022. They stated the cost was due to hardware to reinstall. I shared with them the documentation stating free removal and reinstall and they stated the $8,000 was for hardware. Our new roof was kicked off in February 2023, we are just now being told the roof material will be ready in 3 weeks. AC/DC solar is now telling me the free install and removal for $8,000 is now close to $13,000. No one in their right mind would sign up for solar panels knowing they need a new roof if they were aware it would cost $8k-13K to reinstall. This company should live up to what they put in writing. I feel we were mislead. Solar power does not make sense when you need a new roof!Business Response

Thank you so much for your patience as we finish this project.
We have completed the removal of the panels and re-installation as per the customer's request.
The project has been completed.
After completion the reinstallation it has been determined that a number of tiles were cracked; we have ordered the tiles to be replaced, and we are awaiting their arrival in the next 4 to 6 weeks as they are on back order.
We are looking forward to having a completely successful reinstallation after re-roof, and servicing our customer over the lifetime of their ownership.

I am rejecting this response because:On November 16th, 2023 AC/DC solar reinstalled the solar panels to our brand new roof we had replaced by ****************** the week of November 6th, 2023. Upon reinstallation of the solar panels, AC/DC cracked over 70 + new roof tiles on our roof. They attempted to caulk them improperly in an attempt to seal the cracks. Some of the tiles had also shifted and were no longer linked properly to each other. We immediately had ****************** inspect the damage. They provided a quote to do the repair and order new tiles for replacement of the 70+ tiles that were cracked. AC/DC was provided the quote and has not agreed to pay for the repair. They wanted to do the job themselves which would negate our brand new roof warranty. This is a $72,000 roof we just paid for. The repair quote is for $3,200.00. I believe AC/DC solar should pay for my damaged roof repair cost. Pay for the repair cost $3,200.00

Dear ***************************,
We want to express our sincere appreciation for your patience and the ongoing communication regarding the concerns with your roof following the reinstallation of your solar panels by our team at AC/DC Solar. Your experience and satisfaction are of paramount importance to us.
Upon learning of the damage to your newly installed roof, our immediate intention was to thoroughly assess the situation by dispatching our specialized roofing division or, alternatively, an impartial third-party roofer. Our goal was to ensure a comprehensive evaluation, aiming for a resolution that is both fair and satisfactory to you, while also maintaining the integrity and warranty of your roof.
We understand the work has already been completed, and this approach may seem untimely. However, we believe in the importance of due diligence to ensure that any resolution is grounded in a detailed and accurate assessment of the damages and required repairs.
In light of the current circumstances, we are committed to finding a mutually agreeable solution. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to the opportunity to address and resolve this matter to your satisfaction. We kindly request a short extension of time to thoroughly review the situation and explore all possible avenues for a resolution.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I have patiently waited for nearly 3 months now. No one returns my phone calls, or emails anymore. I cannot get a live person to answer the phones at AC/DC solar anymore. I clearly stated in writing and via phone messages that I need my roof repaired by the roof installer NOT a 3rd party as it will negate my roof warranty on our brand new roof which was very costly to us ($72,000.00). The cost to repair the damaged tiles (over 80 tiles were damaged) was $3200.00 and the job is now finished. I had to show my insurance company my roof was replaced properly to be insured and could not wait longer for AC/DC to keep delaying. I am expecting AC/DC solar to reimburse me for the cost. I can provide several photos of the damage if needed but this has already been provided. I was told there were only a few cracked tiles until I went up there myself and counted between ****** of them. I still can't believe someone would continue to install the solar realizing the damage they are doing to the tiles. They proceed to try to seal them improperly. How does a company install solar to a roof and not know how to walk on a roof without so much damage.
Sincerely,

I had solar panels installed at the end of May in 2022. The installation was a mess to begin with but I chose to move forward as we were already under contract and the sales guy we worked with got us in touch with a supervisor who was very helpful. Fast forward to now and in august my power bill was 600 dollars I assumed my AC breaking was the problem for that. Fast forward to September and my power bill was the same. So I looked into it and my solar panels werent producing anything on the bill. So I called solar edge and they said I needed to check my usage on the app. Which I didnt know there was one and they advised I should have been shown at installation how to download sign up and use it. I wasnt. So I reached out to ac/dc solar and the lady I spoke with said I had to wait for an email she would send and she would call me back to schedule a tech to come out and see what was going on. An hour later I got the app downloaded and it showed my solar panels stopped producing at all on July 13. So I called her back and she said that she was leaving for the day and that she didnt call me back because she couldnt find anyone to come out so I could call back the next day but that she was leaving and there was nothing that could be done. This is after I tried to contact them multiple times and was sent to a voicemail.Business Response

Our solar panels got installed March 2 years ago I believe so its been about 2 1/2 years. Our system was not working the entire time due to faulty converter from SolarEdge or whatever that thing is in that box and also yeah I didnt put an antenna upon installation on that SolarEdge box is not producing the energy yall said it would. Our payment has currently gone up because we werent able to do that tax thing. Like I said we could switch the curtain. Also, our electric bill is just as much now as it was since the system finally started generating electricity maybe five months ago it started after a year and a half of fooling with this mess so were paying $225 solar payment were paying well over $200 a month electric bill , so where is our savings? Where is our benefit from this call **** several times on it yall keep promising over to work at a work it never does. I am fed up my husband and I wish we never wouldve heard of yall the salesman and **** the sales manager. Oh my God hes about a joke , he hasnt followed through with anything. He said he was going to do. I want these things off my house. I dont wanna have to pay another ***** for these **** things like I said cause its still not producing what they should. Ill talk to Cine buying 42 **** panels at over $50,000 , I could get a new house for thatBusiness Response

Hi ****,
I have tried to get in touch with you several times and left messages have not heard back. Please reach out to me so we can discuss the issues you are having with your solar.
Although we have no control over inverters or panels, when your Solar Edge failed, we did come out and replaced it as soon as it was delivered, at no cost to you as it was under warranty. We strongly suggest you download their app on your smart phone or check online on their website from time to time to assess your production.
From what I can see, the solar is working as designed, I have attached a production schedule for your consideration.
If you would be kind and send me the electric bills I will take a look and see where the discrepancy is, weather from the net metering on your utility company or something else.
Looking forward to hearing from you, you can reach me directly at **************.

There have been multiple problems from the very beginning with this company, I had solar installed on my home thru AcDc solar and still have problems getting them to do service on equipment they sold me! I call multiple multiple times to try and get someone to come out and fix issues under warranty and they push me off over and over for sometimes months at a time and tell me I'm out of their service area (then why did they not recommend I use a different company?) And they don't have anyone to work on my system. Currently I have been waiting 3 weeks for a call back, I've been calling to see if there are any updates on when someone will be there to fix it, and they won't answer my calls nor call me back! This is NOT the first time this has happened, the owner of the company will and another girl that works there know me all to well, there have been so much issues with this company! Even from the beginning it took over a year to get my solar installed! I'm trying this before I bite the bullet and take legal actionBusiness Response

Dear ***********************,
Thank you for taking the leap and going solar, we value you as a customer and will stand by you at all times throughout your warranties, and beyond.
Our records show having received your call on July 17th, through our customer service number, regarding some of your panels not communicating with your phone App. At that time we did some troubleshooting, which informed us that you needed to log into your App and tell the system how you would like to use your battery.
Your trouble ticket was resolved remotely on July 25th, and the system looks to be working properly since that day.
Please note, the best number to contact us for any solar questions is ************** and ask for customer service for the most prompt service. Calling the technicians such as ******* or anyone else directly does not expedite the process as they are on the road and not in the office.Should you have any questions regarding your system please contact us at your convenience, we look forward to hearing from you

We had solar panels put on in December 2022 they promised all we would have to pay is a connection fee from Teco !! Know we are literally paying more for power now than before we received the panels .. we changed everything in the house to energy efficient led lights pool pump disconnected our hot tub no longer in use had new ductwork installed and re insulated the attic plus removed trees because they said this would be even better for us .. but nope all that and ****** dollars later and we are paying more then before having them.Business Response

Dear ********************,
Thank you for taking the time to bring to our attention the unexpected difference between energy consumption and production of your home's system.
Upon further review, we determined the solar system that you purchased was originally designed to cover 74% of your home's consumption, and it is working as intended. If you feel the energy savings measures you have taken in the past year, should have reduced your consumption by 26%, an energy audit by your utility company should be able to assess the actual consumption. From our vantage point we can see the solar has produced more than half the energy estimated for the year, as you can see from the attached charts from SolarEdge, your inverter manufacturer.
Please reach out to your *************** to have them assess if all the energy produced is being counted towards your bill.
We remain at your service, should you decide to add a few more panels to make up for the difference we will be happy to assist with deeply discounted mini add-on system and possibly a battery to store the extra energy instead of sending it to the grid.

We purchased solar 1 1/2 years ago for $48,000.00. We were promised excellent service and maintenance on our system. In December our system quit working. It took many attempts to reach customer service and response has been very slow. Several repair people have been out and did replace some equipment but our system is still not working. We have tried to contact customer service many times and have been told the manager would contact us but no one has. With our system out our electric bill has increased by about $120.00 per month and we are still paying $215.00 per month for our solar loan.Business Response

Dear ***** & ****,
Thank you for reaching out to us with regards to your Solar installation, we appreciate your patronage and patience as we troubleshoot and determine the cause of the production pauses.
As you mentioned, and illustrated in the chart below, the system has been producing as designed, for almost two and a half years without major issue. As soon as a production or battery issue appeared, we responded promptly and provided service at no charge as per our warranty. When the ** battery failed, we sent a technician, did the troubleshooting protocol with the ** factory technicians, and they determined it needs replacement. It is on order, and as soon as it is shipped you will be notified. They have had a recall on the batteries but have recently solved the supply issue, your kind patience with the replacement is appreciated.
We also had a up a follow up appointment with the battery technician as well as the Service and Installation Manager, *******, to take a second look at your system while we await your battery replacement.
In the meantime, we made sure your solar was working and producing, offsetting your usage as designed, and it does, as can be seen in the graph above. The winter months production is less than summer because of the shorter days and the sun being at a lower point on the horizon, not stimulating the panels as during the summertime, but this is completely normal.
Please feel free to contact us, should you have any questions, we look forward to serve you.Customer Answer

You have been more than patient with the tedious process to get a replacement. ** has recalled the faulty batteries, and they require different tests on site to approve a replacement to be sent out. We have been at your home multiple times to get this accomplished, and will continue until they agree on the replacement.

We appreciate your patience and will keep you updated as the process continues.

I am rejecting this response because:Your response suggests that everything is fine with our system. The system is producing but none of it can be stored as we have no battery. What gets sold back to the power company only pays back about 1/8 of the rate we pay for use. The only reason our consumption is less than produced is because we are constantly doing everything we can to conserve power. We only cook and do laundry during the day when the sun is shining. We do without air conditioning even when its 90 degrees. We did get a call from the ** of AC/DC solar on 5/31 with apology, he says he is sending us a certificate for a $50 bottle of wine. Big deal, it doesn't help our system and we don't drink. He also informed us that the battery still hasn't even been ordered. Its been 7 months of this and we still have to make monthly payments on a less that adequate system. I cant believe that there are no batteries available to replace ours as I'm sure you have been installing new systems in the last 6 months. Why are we forced to wait?
We were made a lot of promises when we were sold this system that have not been kept
Sincerely,
