to address the state's cancer burden. The center was named after H. Lee Moffitt, former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.
In 1982, as the incoming speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, Mr. Morntt worked tirelessly to influence legislation that
established a cancer center In Tampa. Moffitt Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer
Center based in Florida and is dedicated to one lifesaving missIon: to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.
