    Dear BBB,I am submitting this complaint regarding Subaru of North Tampa, located at ***********************************************************************When I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on 5/30/2025, they added a service package called Premium Protect Plus to the financing agreement without my knowledge or consent. I attempted to remove or cancel it both at the time of sale and afterward, but the dealership staff refused.Despite multiple requests, the dealership has been unwilling to cancel this add-on or issue a refund.     attached you will see the first document "worksheet" that reflects that the ***** recommended" which we did negotiate with customer and explained all the features and benefits which she like and asked us to discount the price from $1995 to $1895 to make the transaction work for her, so we did just that. we did not do anything inappropriately. the second form that is attached is the "buyers order" that reflects the **** and it is added to the sale price of the vehicle on this form. the customer did call the sales associate days later asking for us to remove it from the transaction she was informed that it is not refundable. she did not like that answer so she spoke to the sales manager that informed her of the same status. we understand that she voluntarily added the item and has changed her mind but that does not mean we did something wrong.

    At the time of purchase I was told the product could not be removed from purchase. When I first asked they knocked off a couple hundred bucks, I asked again, **** said I cant. This is not me agreeing, but being given no choice.

    I sold my WRX with an extended warranty. I have requested a prorated refund and they refuse saying they purchased the dealership after my purchase and are not responsible.

    we assisted the customer as much as possible we unfortunately cannot process the cancellation for the previous owner. we did in fact send the customer the phone number that he needs to contact to process the cancellation. this is not the current dealer's fault. we want to cancel it for customer, but we do not have the ability. attached is the information that was provided. **************

    I am rejecting this response because: in Florida the dealer is responsible and the information they gave me is incorrect. The company they say has the warranty does not, its Subaru LLC. The dealer no longer responds to me. They purchased the dealership from the ******, did not open a new dealer.  So no this is not resolved.

    I do not know what to say other than we did try to cancel it for the customer and the warranty company will not allow us to assist him. the only way the warranty company will process cancellation is if the customer calls the company directly which we provided.

    On December 29, 2024, my son and I purchased a 2024 Subaru Impreza from the dealership. During the negotians, we agreed on a price of $27149 and we signed a handwritten sheet that stated that. When we got to the financing portion, they have a large electronic display that pops up windows for you to sign. You cannot see the document below. When we reached the end, I asked why we didn't talk about financing and was told that I already had that information because I had been told we would put $3,000 down and finance for 60 months at 3.9%. I asked when the first payment was due and he stated that all of the information was on the zip drive he handed me. When I got home and looked on the zip drive, I found the Truth In Lending statement. It stated the sales price was $28,651. Which meant we finance $1500 more than what we had agreed to. I texted to salesman and he stated that the manger had left but he would get that fixed right away. It is now two weeks later and I am still getting the run around. I have repeatedly requested that they issue a check for the $1500 difference.

    I apologize for not responding sooner. we have looked into this complaint and discovered that the customer was offered products and after negotiations accepted a paint and fabric protection that is not cancellable as it is a chemical that is applied to clear coat and interior. There was an additional upgrade for a theft protection plan that was $499 which is cancellable if you choose to. However it will be sent to the lienholder and only reduce the principal balance of the loan and not change the payment.

    AVOID THIS STEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS!!! Especially my military ******************* They need to be blacklisted ASAP! From their salesman ******* to the want to be "boss" - GM ***, who makes made up rules versus policy, and everyone in between. Don't even get me started on *****, (Blunt tough guy from **... LoLoLoL) their manager. I wonder how *********************** ownership would feel about these punks and their lack of common courtesy and professionalism. Sure they advertise a good price online but then hit you with the $2k powertrain and then $2k in dealer fees. Nothing can really be done with taxes but they even add on small fees here and there that do add up. My truck price went from $27k to 34k almost immediately and they were rather ***** on their prices. Regardless of the matter, I went ahead and gave in to their tactics and agreed to purchase vehicle. Got a bill of sale written up and did an online pre-approval with NavyFed. Literally told them I was picking up check and said I'd come today but was told truck wouldn't be ready until tomorrow. Tried to leave a deposit too and even that fell through. I booked a hotel in area as I was traveling almost 7 hrs for it and was met with bad news. They sold it right from underneath me and weren't apologetic, even in the slightest. This bunch has no integrity or values whatsoever. First time I've questioned how others sleep at night and these crooks fit the bill. They continuously refuse to give me their corporate number and didn't even have the testicular fortitude to address me on the matter that day. They decided to wait until this morning to give an explanation but was met with constant excuses and trying to shift blame. Most pathetic excuse of a communication attempt that I've ever heard. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Don't believe me, check their other 1 star reviews that are hidden between all their BS 5 star ones. Probably paid for those and I can't see how anyone could have a positive experience.

    we did explain to the customer that we do not hold in stock units for guests that it is a first come first serve basis. we have spoken on the phone multiple times explaining our store policy to him as he did not like our answer about the store policy and promised to negatively bash us online because of it. Most customers think we pressure them into buying the car when we say its a first come first serve basis and then they reply if its meant to be it will be and the moment it happens they want to file a complaint against the business. As far as the price or fees, they are 100% advertised and published. He agreed to the fees at the time it was offered. unfortunately, the vehicle sold before he could get here to purchase other wise he was signing with fees he was well aware of.

    Over the last six months, I have received at least five phone calls from this dealership trying to solicit products to me. I am on the national Do Not Call registry, and have told them to remove my phone number every time they call me. From the calls I received this summer 2024, Ive told them to take me off their calling and solicitation lists which they claim they have. I received a call from them on 9/24/24 from ************ and the representative refused to take me off the calling list, stating he is unable to do that despite me telling him to do so. I now receive another call from this dealership on 10/17/24, to which I advised I have already told them many times to remove me from their list and they refuse to do so. Even after some of the representatives claim to remove my information from their list, they never do and I keep receiving more solicitation calls that I do not consent to. I advised if this continues, I will take further action. I have not been contacted by management regarding a permanent resolution to this.

    I purchased a Subaru Outback in June of 2022 from Subaru of North Tampa, I purchased a warranty on the vehicle at that time that provided 5+ years of coverage and was told if I sold the vehicle they would prorate the warranty and refund the unused portion. I sold the Subaru Outback on July 9th of 2024. I was informed I needed to contact Subaru of North Tampa which I did via phone on 7/23/24 and multiple times via email. I spoke with ***** ********, and emailed him multiple times without a response. Subaru of North Tampa has not refunded the balance due to me and is unlawfully withholding these funds. The funds need to be refunded and a check mailed to me at *******************************************. I have attached the odometer reading and the vehicle VIN below.

    On 7/16/2023 I purchased a vehicle from Subaru of North Tampa, including a $1000 ************* policy, financed and paid monthly with my auto loan payment. The contract states there cannot be changes to the existing contract, and it may not be voided, unless signed. I never changed or voided any contract, including the ************* contract.On 8/5/2024 my car was flooded, and later that week deemed totaled. ***********, the lender, reached out to Subaru of North Tampa, who responded that the contract was voided. They were not given authorization to void the *********** this time *********** has reached out to Subaru of North Tampa for more information, to which they have not received sufficient response. *********** states the contract they have, which has been provided here, (A) is the legal contract, and (B) shows the payment for *************.

    the customer resigned his original loan documents. he originally agreed to purchase the gap insurance and then after reconsidering his loan position or equity position he decided to remove gap and different product. he had $7700 in equity between the cash down payment and trade equity. he chose to add maint/warranty in lieu of gap. the documents we uploaded were the final terms he agreed to.

    I purchased a 2024 Subaru. Cross track and they were supposed to mail all my paperwork to my email as everything is electronic. I have not been able to find it in my email and have called more than 4 times ask them to resend. I even called Subaru of America. Who told me there's nothing they can do. I need my paperwork sent to me. Or I guess I will have to get an attorney.

    For $4,50 our car could have had a paper titlenow it will cost in addition to paying 175 for electronic filing plus $10 plus my TIME to get a paper title,

All I gather from this submittal is that they have an issue with what the **************** is charging them for their title. These fees are not controlled by the selling Dealer. Please advise as to what their concern *** is, and how would they like it remedied by an entity that has no jurisdiction over said issue.

    This complaint is related to price increases in finance, forcing all customers to pay additional pricing for there "Subaru Advantage Package just because it's listed on there website I was not told that it was extra or would cost me. It was just secretly added on in the finance department. They don't print out anything, everything is done on a large table tablet that only has sign here and you better believe each time your signing it's costing you from $599.00 - $3.495. 00. Watch out for price increase they advertise one price for the vehicle I bought. ********* that I trusted was decreased by the manager by 3 thousand dollars. The finance manager actually increased the price to ****** which is ***** more than I agreed to. He lied about running my credit causing 10 inquiries on my credit report in one day. He added the dealer fee that I was told would be removed. I asked the finance manager to reassure me that the price was 30 k out the door. *** looked me in the eyes and said. You got a good price. Liar. This is fraudulent business practices. Subaru of Tampa Bay is located on *********************** in Tampa *******. On January 28th,2023 I want them to honor my price of ******. I don't want the additional Subaru Take Advantage Plan. Remove this and refund me my money.

    Dear BBB,
    ******************************** Contracted on a 2020 **** Truck Expedition *********** at Subaru of North Tampa on 1/28/2023.  I would be happy to help her cancel all pro-rated warranty products at her earliest convenience. Cancelable Products are TRUVSC EXCLUSIONARY VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACT FOR 7 years ******* miles $3751.00.  GAP COVERAGE 6 years $1500.

     Her claim that we do not print anything out and add more than she agreed is unfounded and simply incorrect.  We do use the latest technology such as a Docu ********** for signing your title work, tag work, Buyers Order and other legal documents related to the sale.   We provide USB Storage devise for easy viewing and printing.

    In her complaint she claims that  forcing all customers to pay additional pricing for there Subaru Advantage Package its listed on there website I was not told that it was extra or would cost more  Is simply not what happen.  In our negotiation stage of our sales process all consumers are presented a work sheet.  In attachment 1 Exhibit A.  Is a copy of worksheet presented to ********************************** that clearly discloses the Subaru Advantage and the cost of $2995.  This document is presented from the ************ to the consumer when they are negotiating price in the showroom NOT in the ******************* This document is printed and presented physically.   With her signature on the worksheet, Exhibit A.  clearly shows that *********************************** knew what her price was and her out the door and the dealer fee $1198.00. 

    In the ************** she did purchase *************** Contract:  $3751.00  She Purchased Gap Coverage:  $1500.   Appearance Protection: $599.00.  Anti-Theft: $329.00.  Tri-Bundle:  $1667.32.  Battery Protection: $295.00.  All of these documents have also been attached with her signature.  Unfortunately, only the *************** Contract and Gap Coverage is the only thing Cancelable.  


    Was this fraudulent? clearly not.  Was it bad communication?  yes I believe that.   Did all parties speed up during this process? Absolutely!   But this was not Fraudulent business practices as *********************** ***** claims.
    I have already spoken to *********************** ***** and would like the opportunity to help her cancel all cancelable warranties that she does not want.  I would like to make her happy with her purchase and come back next time she is in the market to buy or service a car.
