I paid almost 10k for a fence, and the handle/hardware is already broken less than a year after the installation. I have called this business numerous times 2/6/25, 2/18/25, 2/27/25, and 3/7/25 and it is always an excuse. They have asked me to call a technician, call another number, wait for somebody to call, etc. and the issue still has not been resolved. My neighbor hired Florida State Fence to put up a fence and one side of it was along the side of my house. The fencing co inquired to my neighbor and me about a pipe that they struck and asked if we had an irrigation system. We both said no. They showed it to my neighbor and he did not know what the pipe was. The fencing company proceeded and put the fence post through the pipe and filled the post with concrete. Within a few days sewage backed up into my garage and upstairs rental apartment. I called Mr. ****** and they snaked three times and nothing worked until they put a camera in the sewer line and we discovered what the fencing co had done. Florida Fence refuses to take any responsibility saying my pipe was on the neighbors property line so they are not responsible for the bill from Mr. ******. It was $4200. The owner was rude and uncaring about what I went through with shoveling c*** out of my garage and my tenant having sewage back up into her shower and bathroom. He continues to say it isnt his problem and will not reimburse me. It isnt my fault or my neighbors. They put the post through the pipe without researching what the pipe was for.Thank you for any help you can give me and let it be known what this company has done and does not care. We are truly sorry that your sewer line was damaged. As we responded before your sewer line should not have been buried across your neighbors property. We hit old abandoned pipes all the time and have no way of knowing what they belong to especially if they are in the wrong location. We are glad that Mr ****** was able to relocate your sewer line to the correct location on your property. By no means have we been rude or nasty. We have apologized but do not feel as though this falls on us. We wish you the best.

I am rejecting this response because:I do not accept the response. Never should the work continued when the pipe was visible. A call should have been made to the city to see what the pipe was before proceeding. I want this company reported for total disregard of what their actions did and the cost to me through no fault of my own. There is not one person who agrees with their response to this. Shame on them. I will have to take legal action if this is not resolved in some manner of monetary compensation.

I think you may be confused to who that sewer line belongs to you. The sewer line belongs to you, not the city. A call to the city would not have solved anything. I understand that you are upset but you have to understand that you are upset with the wrong people. You should be upset with the individual who installed the sewer line on the wrong property. We brought the broken sewer pipe to your attention and the property owners attention. Neither of you knew what it was for. The same goes for us, we had no idea what the line belonged to. We hit old abandoned pipes all the time. We had NO Way to know that your sewer line would have been buried on your neighbors property. You would have had the responsibility and obligation to relocate your line to your property. I'm extremely sorry that your line was broken. It was not intentional and I wish that line was in the correct location from the beginning so we wouldn't have to go back and forth. I just don't feel like this is our responsibility.

I am rejecting this response because:I have talked to many of my neighbors who live here with these older homes built in 1925. No one knows where their sewer lines are! I have lived here since 1989. No one has a clue where their sewer lines are. Your company never should have proceeded when they hit that pipe. I talked to an attorney and legally, whomever broke the pipe is responsible. End of story. I will be calling eight on your side next. Florida State Fence taking NO responsibility is ridiculous. Not a care at all that sewage backed up, filled my garage with sewage. I was out there shoveling crap! I have breast cancer, going through chemo, immune compromised and I am cleaning up your mess and had to pay $4200 to the plumber for what Florida State Fence.

On July 11, 2024 I hired this Florida State Fence to come out and install 350 feet of fence on my property. July 26, the crew came out and installed the fence and did a great job, but had some issues with leveling the back fence and securing the cracks in the fence. on July 28, I emailed the company about the issues and ask would they remove the vegetation from behind the newly installed fence because it looks like its pushing the fence out again. I received a call from the employee name ** that had came out to do the measurements on June 26, and he stated to me that the vegetation is not a issue to install the fence. So they went ahead to proceed to install the fence. I spoke with ** once again after the fence was installed after my July 28, concerns and Bo text me on July 31, that he has me on the list to stop by and look at the fence.Bo called me later after he stopped by and told me that the fence needs to be removed and reinstalled because it was all out of line and not level. He schedule the crew to come back out on August 9, to repair the fence. The crew came out at 5:30p.m. and I saw them on my Ring Door Bell camera walking to the back yard with a post hold digger, but not sure what they did. On August 13, I got a call from **** demanding me to pay the balance of the job. I stated to him that the job was not completed and I will make the balance due payment after the job is done. **** got very rude,unprofessional, disrespectful with a attitude and threating to charge me extra $600 if i didn`t pay balance. I ask **** had he come out to view the fence and he replyed no, but the crew sent him photos. I ask **** to send me the photos so i can see what they did. I`m still waiting on the photos. I later found out that the comany fired **. For what reason i`m not sure. I do intent to pay balacne due when the job is completed. I email the company that night about the conversation i had with **** and provided them with photos of the fence line that is unleveled.Business Response

Issue: As of today 30APR2024, For good cause, I have not signed the *************** Services Installation Customer Approval Form. I was told by the *** Project Manager Beau that the $6200 payment would remain pending until I signed the Approval Form, and yet the payment was posted on 11APR2024.Narrative: Florida State Fence (***) installed an aluminum fence for my backyard. There was no supervisor on site and the crew was Spanish only. That was OK as I can speak some Spanish, but they also showed up with the wrong layout. I was able to draw it out for them and print out the correct version.However, they made a critical error in installing the back portion of the fence. I wanted the 5' gate in the far-right corner in-accordance-with (IAW) the updated project plan so there would have to be a one-foot section beside the gate in the corner which is a typical and expected installation as the footage was evenly divisible by 6'. But instead, they put the one-foot section in the left corner and then placed the 6-foot sections to the 5' gate.It looks horrible and is in direct line with the view of our pond and conservation area from inside the house. I tried to get *** to correct the installation, but they tried to have me pay the labor to correct their installation error. Ive contacted *** several times often waiting a week or more before calling and getting an answer from the project manager. I have filed a complaint with the *********************** Services Department.In addition, it definitely appears that they skimped out on putting the required amount of concrete needed for the posts.Business Response

In Jan 2023 Florida State Fence installed 250' of 6' vinyl fencing around my back yard that had been damaged by hurricane **** As soon as I saw the install I knew it was being installed too high and was leaving large gaps at the bottom of the fence. I called the office and got my rep on the phone and told him about the problem. Since only 20 feet of the whole job was actually completed at that time, I tried to get the rep to stop the job until someone could see the problem. The entire crew working at my house had NO ONE that spoke english. I could see the height problem and tried for over an hour to get the rep to stop the job until they changed the height but the rep was rude and brushed me off. He kept telling me that the it would be fine when the job was done. Job was completed after dark so no way to see the results but next morning in daylight the problem was as I had predicted it would be. 100% of the fence line (over 250') has huge gaps at the bottom. Also the top was not level as required in the contract. Very poor install job.As a comparison...This install was to replace a 6' vinyl fence that I had had for 18 years. That fence had a perfectly level top and minor gaps under barely 10% of the bottom. I believe the Florida State Fence company install had an inferior crew that had no idea how to measure and level a fence and also had a rep that was never schooled in customer service. As of today (5.5 months later), the problem is not resolved and a new problem has risen. Two 5' gates will not close. I contacted the company. Lets see how they resolve it. They have a 1 year labor warranty.Business Response

What you are asking for is not possible nor is it warrantable. ( see attached photos). This job is installed per our contract with Lowes. You cannot have the fence level at the top without any gaps at the bottom unless your ground is perfectly level, which it is not. Since your contract is with Lowes you will need to submit a warranty request with Lowes for any work that *** fall within your warranty. Based on our last visit to your home we feel as though your job is 100% complete and installed to our standard. At this time we are closing your file and do not intend to further this discussion.

I am rejecting this response because:1. total job was over 200 linear feet and pix attached here only show one of 2 long fence rows. There are at least 4 sections and posts that are NOT level on the top as required.by the contract. The person who took the pictures is deceiving you. I have asked for someone to come and meet me in person to inspect the fence cannot get that done.
2. I understand that you cannot have a level top and no gaps...I have confirmed this knowledge many times in the last 6 months. I am disputing that the top is NOT level and the gaps are seriously higher than they need to be, 100% of the fence sections have gaps from 2" to 9" because the installation was substandard. Anyone that knows how to install a fence properly will know I am right as soon as you see it.
3. I am in contact with ***** about this and also have dispute the entire cost of the fence with the card company. They are also investigating.
Am I going to get the NON LEVEL tops fixed, since that is in the contract.
ALSO - all 3 gates installed no longer work. Substandard material and labor it seems.

The "employees" installed the fence in the dark with flashlights. When I inspected the fence in the morning, it is not level. In fact, it goes up for one section, down for 2 sections and then up again then down again. Basically it "follows the contour" of the ground at the bottom rail. When I asked the rep to investigate, he came out and claimed that this was perfectly acceptable and 99% of the fences we install follow the contour. "There would be a gap under the fence if we made it level at the top" He claimed the problem was my yard which is not level at the back. Yet the neighbor's fence, which was done on the same day and by the same company and crew, is level from one end to the other. (we also had the common fence between our homes done at the same time). The rep discussed this with his manager and again called to say "we stand by our decision." I asked why there was no consultation with me regarding options to install the fence level with gaps or follow the contour and he said we do it this way.They then offered to come and "fix" the situation but would charge an additional fee of $350.Business Response

Yard privacy Fence completed in February ' 22 the latch and inches was not the color agreed on. in September ' 22 a panel was broken the contractor ***** told me to push it back in place which i did but it came loose again. I had also told him I would like for him to come out to look at it because there might be other problems. ***** came and my husband pointed out arears with gaps which he stated was nothing. On 11/10/22 we had 16 miles per hour winds and the same panel broke again and all the panes on the ground plus another panel facing the other street with the panel and panes on the ground. I emailed ************************* 11/10/22, not hearing from him I called him on 11/11/22 when he acknowledged receipt of the email but was out in the fields and in a few minutes he can call me to schedule an appointment.Not hearing form ************ called his manager *********************** on 11/14/2022 spoke to ****** who asked what it was about I told her about my fence she wanted me to laborite but I told I prefer to speak to the manager my self , she said then he is not available. I asked for ****** she asked again what it is about - I told her I had spoken to her before ****** then said well she is not available either. Florida State Fence installed my fence on April 26, 2022. Hurricane *** blows out part of the fence on September 28, 2022. I called Florida State Fence on September 29th and left a message explaining that my section of the fence got blown out due to short upper horizontal panel next to the fate which caused the gate to break and torn off. I have videos showing that section with the short panel came apart and 20 min later the gate broke off.. *********** refuses to fix the damage because they are not responsible mother nature problems. However, my other side gate was fine because the horizontal panels are good. This prove that the issue is workmanship caused. They need to take a look at the issue and fix it, it will help them avoid this type of problem and improve their customer satisfaction.Business Response

We understand that you are upset that your fence was damaged by the most devastating Hurricane that Florida has ever experienced. We are currently trying to assess and assist several customer throughout the ******************** with storm damage. I'm not sure if you were aware but Hurricane ***'s winds were in excess of 150 mph when it made land fall and have caused over 60 billion dollars in damage. I'm not sure how you think that workmanship is the issue here but I will attach our warranty that very clearly states we do not cover damage caused by Hurricanes. We will be more than happy to come out and give you a quote to replace the damaged caused by the storm but by no means is this a warranty claim.
