Hoffman sent a guy to rewire a ceiling fan after I had a knock down texture applied to the ceiling last year. I recently had a new ceiling fan installed by another electrician and they couldnt get it to work. After going into the wall they discovered the electrician from Hoffman did not properly wire the fan. This cost an extra hour of labor. They are not responding to my calls or emails. Id like to be reimbursed for their mistake.Business Response

To whom this may concern,
At Hoffman electrical and A/C we Care about all our customers and will always do right by them when in the wrong, that being said. I have attached a copy of the invoice and a Pic of the Fan /light obviously working on 4/8/2022 when we installed it almost a year ago. If the Customer decided to hire another company to install the new Fan and they could not figure out how to wire it, since it was working or the new fan needed different wiring does not warrant a Refund from us nor will we refund any more money back to this Customer. She has been put on Do Not Service.
PS, Customer never tried to call us about this issue. All the Customers answered calls or missed calls are automatically logged into our service Software and onto their account, there were none. You prob. See I wrote any more money back thats because during the install she wanted a credit because she stated we left a spot on her rug. We did not, out techs use tarps to cover the floors but didnt have a before picture so we just decided to refund her to keep our Customer happy.

I am rejecting this response because:I had photo evidence of the spot their tech **** left in my white carpet. No tarp was used. Most electricians use shoe covers (white mesh slippers) when working on carpet.Hoffman did not and they accepted responsibility. This guy called me last week to scream and yell about this claim. He didnt have the work order to establish what work was actually done. The new fan didnt work properly as a result of their negligence. It was an issue with a ground in the wall from what I understand. All I can say at this point is if you use this vendor and have an issue, expect confrontation. He wasnt interested in discussing the issue, even though he had no idea what work was done by Hoffman or what the issue was after having work done by another company. He belittled the company I used saying they were cheap. *** worked with them for years and never had an issue. They werent available when I used Hoffman. This guy is a bully with no interest in resolving a problem. I emailed this company twice with no response. I had several projects going and thought I called as well , but may not have.

I am rejecting this response becauseHoffman electric company provided poor quality workmanship. After which their manager was a bully. His response is a ******************** of the facts. They clearly need the money more than I do. I would never use this company again. As the saying goes buyer beware.

I am writing this in behalf of my parents. My father is 87 yrs old. I was there when this transaction occurred. My parent a/c unit stopped working and they had Hoffman tech came out. I was witness to it all. The tech was there aprox a 1 hour and worked on the a/c for aprox 1/2 hour. He was in the attic maybe 5 mins. when he finished he told them they would need a uv light install and would roll it into the work they preformed, which came to a total of $1700.00. My father agreed to this, and they had to schedule another appointment. my father wanted to put 1/2 down which the tech agreed to, then he stated his laptop would only take the whole $1700.00 which is ridiculous because i worked for a plumber for 6 years and i know the software. He also stated to them that they were VIP and would have a 24 hour turn around time iof they had further issues. Well long story short the a/c unit stopped working within a month. My mom called the company and they stated they couldn't get anyone for a week. my parents are elderly and cannot go without a/c in ******* for a week. They called another company and they came out within hours. The tech they sent had to do the work Hoffman was suppose to. He stated the the work was never done by Hoffman and also took pictures to prove it was not done. This great company charged the $432.00. My mom e-mailed and called Hoffman and they never returned her phone call. I called 4xtimes and never got a call back> Finally i got ahold of the a/c manger and he said he would have come out personally but the office never took care of it. He spent the whole time spinning me. I told him to make my parents whole and they did not. This is the first time i have ever contacted the BBB. It's horrible they took advantage of my elderly parent. Someone one needs to help so they don't do this to some other elderly person. these people are on fixed incomes.. shame on them. To whom this may ************** take great sadness that any Senior citizen or anyone of our customers despite age would be without A/C,but we closed for the Hurricane, and this was explained to the Customer. At the time of the event in question 9/27/2022 we were in a State of Emergency, and all thought the Hurricane was coming straight into the Bay, so we decided to close and give our employees at least half a day to prepare. The safety of all not just one!
1st trip Non- member Drain line cleared, and ** light sold.
The Johnsons called in on 8/22/2022 because their unit was down. our earliest appointment was on Sat.8/27/2022, on weekends we ask for a nonrefundable ****** Service call fee for the time slot, they agreed. When we arrived our tech troubleshot and found that the line was full of water and Sludge which caused the safety switch to trip and shut down the system so the house doesn't flood. The cost to clear a drain line is ****** but since they already paid the ****** and wanted to purchase the ** system we left it at ******
2nd Trip, Member, Cleaning done, and ** light installed
While inspecting during the 1st trip, the tech explained that there was some microbial growth inside the Air Handler, this usually happens when there is an abundance of water in a slowly draining system for a long amount of time. We never tell a customer You need a ** light installed . The tech explained we are running a deal on cleaning's, the deal is if you buy a ** light the cleaning is free, that's a ****** saving. Instead of ******** the cost would be ******* the Customer agreed, Signed, paid in full (because we were having issues with the i pads not to scam her) So on 9/1/2022 we arrived, did the Cleaning to inside and outside unit, installed the ** light. and Completed the Job.
3rd Call on 9/27/2022 (26 days later)
the Johnsons called in on 9/27/2022 and stated their unit was not working again. We explained we were closed for the Hurricane and due to having to reschedule everyone from the 28th and 29th our next appointment was on 10/3/2022 The Customer was not happy but said ok.Customer called back in on 10/2/2022 and canceled the appointment because they found others to take care of it. We were closed, we are also lucky here in Tampa Bay that we didnt get hit straight on like *********.
In closing, I would like to say We have never or will we ever Warranty drain lines, because you cant guarantee the calcium deposits wont break free and re clog the drain, or a snake, frog or lizard, doesnt crawl into the drain line end and clog it. There are too many variables. Most HVAC companies DO NOT WARRANTY DRAIN LINES!especially ones install by others and has been there for years. This is what we are dealing with here. If we didnt clear the drain line, how did it run for 26 days? It did because it was cleared. We cant guarantee it will not clog again so thats why we do not warranty it.
On another note, the ** light is to keep growth off the coil not to keep the Drain line clear, the reason they are Upset is because we were closed for the Hurricane and would not service them until we reopened, but after 26 days would of charged our ****** cost again, while the other Company charged 3 times that amount. They over charged due to the Hurricane.
This was all explained to the Customer upfront.at the time of the event in question 9/27/2022. All 52 other Customers that were rescheduled, members or not understood, this Couple just doesnt understand We were Closed, and they chose to call another Company. We will not be issuing a Refund because we did clean the units, installed the ** light and cleared the drain line for 26 days.
