    I am filing this complaint against ************************** (HW), a *****, *******-based debt collection agency, for unlawful practices violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA, 15 U.S.C. 1692), Fair Credit Reporting Act (****, 15 U.S.C. 1681), and Californias ********* ************** Code 1788). These actions have exacerbated my homelessness by hindering housing applications due to erroneous credit reporting.The issue stems from an alleged $14,250.77 debt from *********************, tied to a December 2023 unlawful detainer judgment (Los Angeles County Superior Court, Case No. 23STUD13950), which awarded no monetary damages, only possession. On June 11, 2025, I requested debt validation per FDCPA 1692g(b), seeking proof of Camdens right to collect, lease terms justifying $13,788.02 plus 7% interest, and HWs assignment. HWs supervisor, ****** ********, promised validation within 710 days but failed to provide it by July 16, 2025, violating FDCPA 1692g(b) and ********* Act *******, which mandate ceasing collection until verification.Despite this, HW continued reporting the unverified debt (Account No. ******** to **********, Equifax, and Experian, falsely implying its validity, breaching FDCPA 1692e(2) and (8). ** also sent settlement offers (e.g., $7,125.39 on March 11, 2025; $11,400.52 on May 27, 2025), constituting unlawful collection attempts. As an FCRA furnisher, HWs reporting of unverified data violates 1681s-2(a). After disputing with **** on July 3, 2025, HW failed to correct the tradeline, violating FCRA 1681s-2(b), directly causing housing denials and emotional distress.HWs history includes similar BBB and CFPB complaints for unvalidated debts and improper reporting. I filed with CFPB and DFPI (Case ID: ********** on July 3, 2025. I seek deletion of the tradeline, statutory damages up to $1,000 per FDCPA violation, FCRA damages for housing denials and distress, and attorney fees.

    I am filing this complaint against Hunter Warfield Inc. concerning an invalid debt claim. I am not liable for this alleged debt, as I have never signed or entered into any contractual agreement with the company listed as the Business Headquarters Location.On May 29, 2025, I sent a formal written request asking Hunter Warfield Inc. to provide a copy of the original contract that allegedly supports my liability. They have failed to provide any such documentation, and this debt remains unverified.Despite this, the account has been reported to the credit bureaus and is currently damaging my credit profile. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (****), only accurate and verifiable information may be furnished to consumer reporting agencies. As this account has not been substantiated, I am demanding that Hunter Warfield Inc. immediately remove the negative item from all of my credit reports.I expect swift action in removing this erroneous reporting. Continued failure to correct this issue will be regarded as a violation of my rights under federal law.

    ************************** is a third-party collection agency headquartered in *****, *******. Since 2004, ************************** has provided effective collection services for its clients in the multifamily, commercial, and funeral industries. Hunter Warfield does not purchase or own debt; it collects on accounts referred by its clients. Hunter Warfield and its people are committed to ensuring that the consumer is dealt with in a professional, caring manner.


    Complaint # ******** has been reviewed. We have also reviewed our collection notes and records. The consumer states that he does not have a contract with Hunter Warfield and never received validation of the debt when requested. The consumer therefore requests the deletion of the account from his credit report.


    Breton Mill referred an account to ******************** for collection on 04/20/2023, listing the principal amount due of $5,825.45. The initial collection letter was sent to the consumer on 04/21/2023.


    The concerns raised by the consumer were reviewed. Please note that prior to this complaint, Hunter Warfield did not receive a dispute from the consumer regarding this account.


    The consumer submitted a dispute with the credit bureaus indicating that this account was not his. As a result of the dispute, the account was closed and subsequently deleted from the consumers credit report.

    I am a victim of identity theft coz when I received my credit report last few weeks ago, I was stunned to find out that there were unknown addresses there that I never resided, accounts that I never opened, inquiries I never made, and even variation of my name such as CLIINIQUE *******. So I have contacted the creditors to make them know of the breach.
