    I am an elderly woman and I am getting taken advantage of. My grandson has brought this to my attention and educated me on the illegality of the situation.The management never provided me with any formal documentation in regards to my renewal, I had to reach out and thank god in the **** of time as I only had 1 month and 4 days left on my lease. Then what wouldve happened? I get kicked out or have nowhere to live? They gave me a renewal I had no decision but to be bullied into my new lease amount. This is an income regulated federal building and there increasing my rent over 15%!!!!Now due to the new pricing I have to give up my washer and dryer because I cant afford the new rate plus an extra 60$ to have a washer and dryer! It is super illegal what they have done and I have no one to turn to for help. I hope this letter finds someone with a heart because there crushing mine! I have documentation to prove that they put a letter on my door the day after I called on 04/24/2025 but my lease literally ends on June ****** I believe. How can a 70 year old woman like myself maneuver in such a short amount of time! I will attached the photo.

    I've been having an constant ongoing issue with my washer and dryer in my unit. The washer is completing the cycle with old water that is making my clothes/linen give off a potent mildew smell. The washer in my unit will not complete a cycle, I have to constantly lock the washer by pressing the button to lock it every **** minutes. The dryer is not drying at all it was making noise like its drying, but is not giving off any heat. This has been going on since I moved in. I have made numerous of complaints dating back to March of 2023. I constantly came to the office and made service request online stating that the washer and dryer isn't working properly. The workers sent maintenance to my unit to fix the issue, but the problem was never resolved. I'm paying $60 a month for the washer/dryer to not work, the only thing I'm asking for management to do is to cease the payments until the problem is resolved, give me a credit for the months that I've been without a washer/dryer because I have to take my items to the laundry mat sometimes twice a month to get my items cleaned and get the smell out. I'm constantly calling and going to the office and the workers keep saying that they're waiting on management to respond back to them and its nothing they can do but give me a $30 credit, and that they're still waiting on management to get back with them. I refuse to constantly pay for this washer and dryer when I'm not utilizing it at all. I haven't turned it on in months and I'm still responsible for making the payments? I have a 7 year old daughter that has severe asthma and allergies, this has become a safety hazard for not only me, but most importantly her as well. Most of her clothes has to get thrown out because she cant take the smell and she's breaking out from it. ******, the manager emailed me saying the new washer will be here on Jan 11th. When maintenance come to my unit, they don't leave behind no note or anything stating that they've been there.

    We received your complaint letter dated 01/05/****. In your letter, you mentioned that
    Incomplete  work order for  washer and dryer since March 2023
    We understand how this state of affairs could be an inconvenience.  We have investigated this matter and provided a final accepted resolve as of January 25 ****. During our investigation discovery the dryer portion of your complaints was received in late January **** and does not meet additional credit request.  We also have noted with the combination of rentable items vouchers and cash credit value the office has exceeded the requested amount 180 by additional 60 in your favor.
    We hope to have achieved a successful completed service order history by 02/01/20224 once permission to enter is granted. In the meantime,please know that your feedback is important to us. Please schedule a time that works with you schedule to complete the dryer service order portion of your complaint.

    Before I submitted an application, the associate explain to me the fees which was an application fee and $100 for the holding fee of a hotel. I gave the rental associate my pay stubs and she told me that I can afford the apartment. Weeks went by and I finally received a letter that I was not approved. She did not include the $100 that she said would be returned. I call to inquire about the $100 and she told me that it can *********** weeks for a refund. Six weeks has came and gone.They stole my money, and if they tried this scam on me, they did it to thousands of other applicants as well. They are using people's deposits that are not approved and using those funds for other purposes. They owe me the $100 plus interest however The **************** is not holding these rental companies liable for the damage they are creating in the economy.Most of them are full to capacity and they are telling people to give them money, when they know they are not approved and they also know that these people will never get the apartment that is held.There is no accountability anymore and that is why our economy is falling.Do not just fight for me, but The **************** need to fight for every homeless person that are being taken advantage.It is now shameful and something need to be done.
