I received a phone message from someone claiming to be calling from a *******/******* & associates. They called from ************ and left a message to call them back at ************. They called on 09/13/2024 @ 2:48 pm and the message was 27 seconds long. On their message they said they were calling for Defendant *************************, my wife, and they were calling from a Civil Dispatch. I did a Benverified search on both the above phone numbers and both came up unknown for the millions of phone numbers they had on file. My wife and I called and spoke with a woman who said her name was ***************************** and she was a paralegal. She said she would be our point-of-contact, and her extension was 542. She claimed she was calling from Des Moines Iowa and then explained that my wife had a debt from 2010 that they were trying to collect. She said they were trying to collect it for GE Money Bank and that it was a line-of-credit through Care Credit. ******* said *******/******* and Associates sent my wife a letter on July 3, 2024, to our current address and my wife said she never received it. ******* said the letter offered a payment agreement at 75% of what was due to their client, GE Money Bank/Care Credit. ******* was able to verify my wife's last four did gets of her Social Security number and our current address. She then said if my wife was served with a court appearance we would need to go to court and probably end up paying the full amount. I thought they were legitimate, so I decided to pay them with a credit card.so they sent my wife a docusign document and we paid them. Later on that evening, 09/13/2024, I felt this was a scam so I did some research and couldn't find the Law Firm on the worldwide web,Initial Complaint

Receiving phonecalls stating ** being sued for something that I have no idea about. Dont have anything to do with GE. Theyve called already seven times in one week which is already violating ******** laws and threats of a lawsuit. Clearly a scam and my information has already been leaked out once.Initial Complaint

GE Money Bank scam - I received a call and both of my daughters received a call from a "process server" - each from a different phone number - giving all of us the same phone number and reference number for me to call regarding. ************ with a reference of *********. The person I spoke to claimed that I was being ***d for a bad debt of $1902.83 dating back to 2013 that had been written off as an account being closed due to insufficient funds. She had the last four digits of my social security number and told me that they had sent me numerous offers to settle and since I had not responded I was being ***d and this would go before a judge. I told her that I had not received any letters regarding this and that I had no idea what she was talking about. I informed her that I monitor my credit and she was quick to respond that it wouldn't be on my credit because it's 10 years old. I told her that I ALWAYS monitor my credit and that I never had an account for whatever this is. She spoke to her legal team and they said they could pull this back from being taken to court if I agreed to make payments & with interest that amount would be $2802.83. I told her I would not agree to make payments on something I didn't owe. They would need to send me proof I owed anything. She said that they could only stop it from going to court if I agreed to make payments and that they only correspond electronically so I would need to give her an email. I refused and told her to mail me proof. She said she couldn't do that but they could go forward with taking it to a judge. So I told her to *** me then, and expect to be ***d right back.Initial Complaint

I have been receiving call from a collection agency from a local number and in their voicemail they give a different number to call and a case number. I called them and they say it is for a debit with GE money bank. They could not tell me what kinda of account or when it was from. When they answered my call they gave me the last 4-digits of my ss and also said they sent documents and gave me my address but I have never received anything from them. I asked again for the dates and they said they would send me a Debit Validation letter to my email with more information. I received what they sent but it still did not provide any information on what or when the supposed debit is from. There is also nothing on my credit report showing this debit.Initial Complaint

Just received a phone call 12/20/23 that I'm being served and an officer is going to be dispatched and being sued by GE money to collect the debt of $9,330.91 from 2006 said I Refuse to pay and they'll take me to court They said that m a m legal office was the ones I was supposed to contact they gave me a reference number and a phone number ************ I called the number back that originally called me and I got a different person they told me it was ************************** was the one that overseeing it so after having a long conversation with the lady they said if I came up with $730 they would settled the account. The one thing I did notice is she kept putting me on hold talking to somebody said that she needed to talk to her supervisor happened multiple time especially when I asked concerning questions about scamming they said they're going to call me back in 24 hours so I guess I'll wait and see They slip when I asked for the court case number they said they have not filed it After reading other complaints I'm assuming this is a scam If you do talk on my behalf with this company please do not give them any of my viable information I don't want to continue to be harassed by themInitial Complaint

11/27/2023 I get a text from m y father and brother regarding someone trying to reach me about a civil suit. I call the number back and this lady gives me the last 4 of my social and my maiden name. Says I have an owed amount of over $900 for a GE Money bank or Care credit of some sort. I asked her when this contract was supposedly signed, and she states sometime before 2012. It was closed then and charged off in 2016 and now the company wants to take me to court for the money owed. I asked again when the original contract was signed, and she got smart and said sometime before then. It's for health coverage. I told her I had been on ******** and married since since 2010, so that can't be right. she then said, maybe you have a pet, I again told her not unless fish need a vet. Needless to say, I told her to send whatever she needed to send to whatever address she had on file. If it's mine, it'll reach me.Initial Complaint

I am being sued by this company for a debt on a credit card(apparently) that I never had. According to the law firm representative I spoke to, this debt dates back to March 2015. I had never at anytime received any notice of money owed. They said it was a loan from GE Money Mastercard ending in xxxx. This is clearly a scam. Received a call from someone saying I would be served with papers on 1/12/23 because I was being sued. They gave me a phone # to call and a case number. Called the number and the person said that it was in regards to something (couldn't tell me what it was) in 2011 that I filled out paperwork for and signed for. That GE money was trying to collect the money for it. They told me it was for $2900 and an adjusted lawyer fee of $2400. ****'s on them. My credit was so bad in 2011 that my bowling average was higher than my credit score. I even said that peoples IQ's were higher than my credit score in 2011. I told him when I get served with papers that I would forward them to my lawyer and he would be in contact with them. His tone changed really fast and he said "OK. Have your lawyer do that and set up the court date tomorrow." and then hung up. Nothing showing up on my credit report for that amount. I watch my credit like a hawk. Im guessing I wont see anyone knocking at my door tomorrow. Same thing happened through a different company in 2018. No one ever showed up then.
