• Advertising Review:

  In August 2022, BBB contacted Pool Deck Resurfacing Tallahassee regarding claims in its advertising.
  
  The video on its website includes the statement "Superb quality guaranteed."  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, when using the term guarantee in advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the guarantee can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location, viewed on the advertiser’s website or, in the case of mail or telephone order sales, made available free on written request.  BBB requested that the business add this information to its advertising but did not receive a response.
  
  Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. The business did not respond to BBB's request that it provide substantiation for the following statements on its website:
  "It may not seem drastic, but when mold and mildew build up on the outside of your home the darker surfaces attract sunlight causing your home to heat even more than usual."
  "Your concrete pool deck will be quick to install and adds value to your property that is unmatched. The concrete deck will pay for itself with how little maintenance and installation costs are required from your budget."
  "Did you know that resurfacing your pool deck can actually increase the value of your home by thousands of dollars?" 
  "If you’re looking to sell your home your concrete pool deck can play a huge role in if your house is approved for a loan. Typically a house with a cracked and faded pool deck won’t be approved for a loan."
  "Whether it’s a fresh-looking patio or a like-new appearance of a driveway, concrete cleaning can warrant an amazing return investment of up to 70-80%."
  "When you increase curb appeal, your home is more desirable to future buyers, and not only does your home sell more quickly but it also will receive top dollar."
  "When you have your siding, decking, or fencing restored to its original beauty, curb appeal will be enhanced and you will not only sell your home more quickly but you will also get top dollar for your investment."
  "With our low pressure washing system, your home not only appears to be clean, but it kills mold, mildew, and bacteria at the molecular level to keep it from coming back. This keeps your home cleaner for a longer period of time."
  
  Its website includes the following statements:

  "If you’re looking for an easy way to help the planet, an epoxy floor is the best route. With less materials being used for installation and less waste being produced at the end of the installation, an epoxy floor is a great way to make a green footprint."
  "Heavy duty cleaning is typically associated with the application of heavy chemicals and cleaners, but our low pressure washing system uses environmentally safe cleaners to truly rid your home of bacteria as opposed to simply moving the dirt around as with high pressure washers.   Advertisers should not make broad, unqualified general environmental benefit claims like “green” or “eco-friendly.” General environmental benefit claims must be qualified with specific environmental benefits, and the benefits must be significant. Advertisers must possess competent and reliable evidence (often scientific evidence) to support all environmental benefit claims. Qualifications for any claim must be clear, conspicuous and understandable. Advertisers may make an unqualified degradable claim if they have competent and reliable scientific evidence that the entire product or package will completely break down and return to nature within a reasonably short period of time.  BBB requested that the business provide any documentation or links to documentation that supports these claims but did not receive a reply.
