On 7/31/2025 I went for a free consultation at Signature Smiles. The promotion is still running online. When completed they said I need some additional services. The services will cost $1615.66 and they asked for a credit card to have on file only. No charges will be made until the service is completed. So I handed them my credit card. And by the time I got home my bank alerted me that a charge for $1615.66 was just approved. I was mad and called them and cancelled all my future appointments. And I asked for a refund which they refuse to give me. I never received and service or product from them other than the free initial consultation.Business Response

I had to a dental procedure done and was surprised when asked to pay prior, as I had insurance. However, I knew the practice had been acquired by another entity and decided to just give in as I knew my insurance would cover it anyway. That was almost a year ago. I have spoken to the office staff, managers etc. and my insurance company (on 3 way calls) and was assured that I would receive my refund. It has never occurred. The staff in that office has been replaced multiple times. Very suspicious. I have been given excuse after excuse, each one more outlandish. Example: We can't refund your money until ALL claims have been paid by your insurance company (and the claims never ended), the computer won't generate a check as long as there are outstanding claims or the popular, Dr. ***** can't take care of this now, she's with a patient. I have been trying to get my money back for almost a year now. My insurance company can't help me, the staff can't or won't help me and my dentist told me he considered leaving because of the office staff situation. Really? I think he has bigger problems. Ms. ***** has even told others that she is not responsible for any transactions that occurred prior to her purchase of the business. She lies! I recently sent a letter to her office, not expecting any action and have moved on to another dentist. However, I'm a ********** senior who can't afford to be swindled out any money and I want to see action not only for myself but the others would have been defrauded by this woman. She needs to be out of business and her dental license needs to be removed. I will not stop until everyone is aware of this woman and her scam. Please assist me in this. Thank, you.Business Response

On February 24th I went to signature smiles of st. **** , I had made an appointment over the phone they told me my dental insurance was accepted so I went thinking yeah Ill be okay . Once I got there they said they dont accept my insurance still proceeded to see me but never went over any pricing with me to tell me how much it was going to cost out of pocket . In my opinion it is the offices job to go over pricing before hand that way us customers know what to expect before hand . That was my daughters daycare money and now I dont have it and cant pay my for her daycare . The lady I spoke with on the phone this morning was rude and told me its my responsibility to ask the pricing , no its not as a dentist office it is their responsibility to go over everything before hand . Never again will I return to that establishmentBusiness Response

Good morning . The office did let you know at the front window we did not accept your insurance and we offer a 25 percent discount with insurance we do not accept to patients . You still wanted to be seen due to being in a lot of pain and your face was swollen . The clinical team did take x-rays and do a limited exam on you . As well as given you a prescription for antibiotics . When you checked out you paid with no problem . We did not force you to pay . You emailed us a few day later stating you needed that money for daycare . If you express that at the check out window we would of had work something out for you. Nobody forced you to pay . You were informed of payment ahead of time . No refund is due at this time . Thank youInitial Complaint

Good ********************************************************** appreciate you coming to our office today with your concerns in regards to the balance we are showing owed to **. Although we were unable to discuss in detail what our records reflect, below is a copy that you can review. I believe a part of your concern were our billing fees vs what you felt were fees from the insurance company. It is important to understand that we as a dental office have our own fees that we charge our patients. We then have contracted insurance fees that allow us to have an idea of what the potential patient portion (copay) would be at the date of service. This is then presented to our patients at their date of service and then it is signed.
Below is a copy of our ledger. It presents all treatments presented, fees associated with the treatment, patient portion, an estimate of insurance portion and overall total amount due. The ledger reflects that there is a balance of $149.34 owed to our office. When you left the office, you advised that the insurance company would attempt to contact us to discuss this matter on 09/18/24. In an effort to better understand, I took the initiative to contact your insurance company to get to the bottom of your concerns. During my conversation with your insurance company, they advised that the balance we are reflecting as owed is valid.
Your insurance coverage has a $1000.00 max. As of 04/23/24 your insurance was maxed out. The crown was not covered by your insurance and ultimately your remaining balance is the residual amount owed from all of your services here with our office. When you get a moment, please feel free to contact your insurance company with ref# *********. The representative's name was *********. I thank you for your time and apologize on behalf of your insurance company if they mis advised you that a balance was owed to you vs owed to us. I believe that once you're able to have them properly explain this to you, we can connect to resolve your remaining balance. If you have any questions; don't hesitate to ask. Have a great day.]
