On march 20th I rented a car from this business from ************************* for 9 days and paid a total of $608.45 which included a $125 deposit for the car. When the 9 days were up I extended it for 2 more days and paid $149.42. Then when those 2 days were up I asked him to extend it for 6 more days (from march 31 through April 6). He agreed and sent me a payment link for $448.26. All of these payments I made he says includes insurance with the total price. On march 31 when I extended I decided to go out to a bar that night while me and my friends were sitting in the car, an incident occurred between other individuals and they started shooting. About 3-4 bullets hit the rental car and I made it home safely and filed a police report. While doing so the officer informed me the tag on the car was expired. I told ** about what happen and he said to return the car and that he will refund me for the days I just extended because there was no other car to put me in. I agreed and returned it. Later on when I requested my refund back he told me it had been voided because the insurance doesnt want to cover it. I questioned him why am I paying for insurance if it wont even cover an incident like this and why would he rent me a car with an expired tag. I got no response from him. I contacted my bank and requested a refund for the $448.26. But Im not sure how to get my deposit back and what can I do about him renting cars with expired tag. Im not even sure if he insures his cars. And if he does is he going to just file an insurance claim on the car and still keep my money?

Fixaflatt told her to bring the car back because the plate was expired she did not bring the car back. Then took the car out and it received a lot of damage. That is why she is not getting her deposit back.
