My husband had to take off a day of work and fix what they broke .A/C Designs, Inc.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for any frustration and inconvenience you and your husband have experienced. We truly value your loyalty over the past 20 years, and we are deeply sorry that your recent experiences have not reflected the high standards we aim to uphold. When you contacted us regarding the issue, we requested pictures so that our management and technical team could properly review and assess the situation. Unfortunately, we did not receive the requested documentation, which made it more difficult for us to quickly investigate and respond. Regardless, it is never our intention to leave a loyal customer feeling unheard or dissatisfied, and we are committed to making this right. We would like to offer to send a senior service technician to your home at no charge to inspect your system, address any concerns, and ensure that everything is operating properly. Please contact us at ************ so that we can schedule a convenient time for you. We truly appreciate the opportunity to regain your trust and demonstrate the level of service that we are known for.Review fromDonna R

1 starThese people are very dishonest! Our contract is 10year warranty for parts and labor and the line backed up and was running out on carpeting upstairs. Thank goodness I was changing the air filter, like I do every quarter and found it! They charged me $500. to unclog the drain line that took 20 minutes. The service person said it's a maintenance issue but we had paid for a flotation part that is supposed to shut the unit down in the event the line was clogged. It didn't work! I would honestly give them zero stars! No where on our contract does it say we need to have them come out once a year to flush the line.A/C Designs, Inc.

I appreciate you sharing your concerns, and Id like to clarify a few important points. Your extended warranty covers mechanical failures, which refers to issues caused by a mechanical part malfunctioning. However, the issue you experienceda clogged drain lineis classified as a maintenance issue and, unfortunately, isnt covered under the extended warranty. Its essential to perform at least one maintenance check per year to prevent issues like this, and our records show that no maintenance has been performed on your unit since we installed it in May 2022. These maintenance guidelines are set by the extended warranty provider, not AC Designs.Additionally, the technician checked the float switch in front of you, and it was working properly at the time. Sometimes, algae buildupdue to lack of maintenancecan weigh the float down, preventing it from functioning as intended. We did everything we could to resolve the situation. We offered to enroll you in our maintenance plan ($249 value), which includes two cleanings done six months apart and 20% off repairs, filters, and accessories to help prevent this from occurring again, as well as refund you $246. The combined value of the refund and maintenance plan was equal to a full refund. However, this offer was declined at the time because it was not a full monetary refund. While we understand your frustration, regular maintenance is essential to avoid these kinds of issues in the future. Please let us know if we can assist you further or schedule your maintenance.Review fromRobert M

1 starHANDS DOWN the worst AC company in ***** and ***************! Please stay away from this company. I have been without AC for almost a month as this company continues to throw parts at my AC and each time it's something else that needs to be replaced along with a 3 day wait for the part to be ordered! This is a brand new home and to not hav AC for a brand new unit for almost a month is completely unacceptable. You have been warned stay away.A/C Designs, Inc.

We understand your frustration and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Our service manager, *********************, and the entire team are working diligently to expedite the repair. Please be assured that we have done everything possible to speed up this process. We deeply regret the situation and want you to know that we value you and your comfort. We are committed to resolving this issue as swiftly as possible. We have done an overnight rush on the part needed and will have our Service Field Manager onsite ensure the unit is working properly. Thank you for your patience and understanding.Review fromEddie W

5 starsI know that I have read the reviews below, and I am surprised to read them. We bought out house (new build) 18 months ago. We have had no problem with any service from A/C Designs. We have had them out 2 twice so far, once of a check-up on the system, and the other today, because we had a temperature problem. Everyone has always been more than great. From the front office to the people that came to our house. I can say that based upon my experience I would recommend A/C Designs.A/C Designs, Inc.

Thank you for taking the time to share the experience you have had with AC Designs. We know it is much easier to submit a review when you are unhappy, and that it takes extra effort to go through the trouble of leaving a review when you have had a positive interaction. It is always our goal to provide the best service possible and to leave all of our homeowners happy and cooling (or heating depending on the time of year). I am glad that has been your experience and we are ready to assist should you need us again in the future!Review fromAnna S

1 starDo not use this company. Maintenance plan completely worthless. They run your unit for 5-6 years and then tell you your unit needs to be replaced!A/C Designs, Inc.

This homeowner had a service call 7/5/23 due to one of their systems not cooling. They received a discount on their diagnostic for being enrolled in the ****************** which is our maintenance plan. The problem with the system is not due to maintenance or lack of maintenance, but is a mechanical failure that can normally occur over time and is not a result of any of the work that AC Designs has done. When a new system is installed AC Designs puts a notice on every air handler for the homeowner to reach out immediately to register the equipment's parts warranty. Registering the equipment parts warranty is a responsibility of the homeowner, not the installer. We do help homeowners with this process if they reach out to us, but they have to make the call. The warranty parameters are that of the manufacturer of the equipment, not AC Designs. Due to the system being out of warranty, replacement was recommended so the homeowner had all possible options.Review fromFrancois F

1 starWe bought a brand new house in 2020 the ** unit was installed and serviced by ** Designs since then.Every time a technician came to service the unit they were pushing sales telling us that parts were broken ie capacitor , hard start kit needed, and recently need to replace the crank heater that burnt. We found out from their own technicians during a later visit for maintenance that parts were not even defective. The technique they use is always the same part is under warranty but they charge a ridiculous amount for labor. The last episode was that our crank heater needed to be replaced because it burnt, and labor would cost $380 to install it.We found out from their technician that the only problem was that the wire was too short so he couldnt fix it. The fix would have taken a couple of minutes. As the ** unit was installed and serviced by ** designs from the beginning we guess that the crank heater was either neither hooked up by them, or that something happened when it was serviced but that part wasnt burnt. We thought it was unfair and asked to speak with a manager. Someone that didnt introduce himself called us back after we left a message to *************************** their customer service manager. As previously experienced they told us that this is their policy and we have to pay if we want the crank heater to be replaced. They could care less about customer service, refuse to fix their own mistakes, and arrogantly tell us to go elsewhere if were not happy with their policy. We do not recommend ** designs as we think they are pushing sales and charging a ridiculous amount for labor. When you try to discuss the issues with their management they could care less and act dishonestly.A/C Designs, Inc.

Unexpected repairs are always frustrating and we understand this more than anyone. In this case, the wire was not too short, but burnt at the connection causing it to be to small to reuse the same wire. This was discovered by the maintenance technician when doing your routine maintenance and brought to your attention. Even when you have regular maintenance, various parts of your unit can still succumb to wear and tear and eventually will need replacement, especially with units running more frequently in the Florida heat. I am glad you were able to speak with our Service Manager and he was able to resolve your issue and perform the repairs needed at no charge. Our team takes pride in operating with the utmost integrity as that is the foundation of our business and our commitment to our customers.Review fromChasity M

1 starIf I could give NO STARS, I would! Our AC unit went out in 05/22. We contacted A/C Design for repair b/c we had a maintenance agreement with ***** ****** were supposed to services our unit within 24 hours. It took them 5 days to complete the repair. A few weeks later I started noticing mold in random places throughout my home, on the A/C vents, furniture, and clothes in my closet, etc. Being extremely concerned of the health issues this could bring, I contacted Pure Maintenance to do an assessment on the mold growth. A/C Designs had serviced & cleaned our unit on 11/10/22 as part of our maintenance agreement. Their service agreement states they BioFresh the air handler, clean condensate pan and lines, air handler inspection, etc., which should eliminate mold growth! On 11/22/22, only 12 DAYS after being cleaned by A/C Designs, Pure Maintenance came to my home to inspect the mold. As he inspected the unit, he found the culprit inside the A/C handler, a panel covered in mold that was visible when the front panel of the unit was taken off. Since the mold was inside the unit, it was causing mold to travel through the duct work to my entire house. Pure Maintenance required we have the A/C professionally cleaned before they could start the mold remediation. We contacted A/C Designs since they proclaimed they had recently cleaned our unit. They came out, cleaned the unit again, and charged ** another $392! It cost ** $4000 to have the mold remediated from our home! Not once, when our unit was being serviced on multiple occasions, were we EVER told there was mold on/in the unit. Had there been any type of discussion, we would have rectified it immediately so it never got to this extreme! My husband and I both contacted A/C Designs on multiple times with our concerns, and they completely ignored **, and refused to take any responsibility. There is no integrity with this company! Obviously we will never use this company again and we will take our business elsewhere!A/C Designs, Inc.

Thank you for writing this review to express your concerns. In regards to the bio growth, the issues you are experiencing are not a fault of AC Designs. The maintenance technician on 11/10/2022 took pictures of his work and did not show any bio growth at that time. Bio growth is something that can occur and grow rapidly. We did send a technician out on 11/18/2022 at no charge, after you contacted us 11/16/2022, as a courtesy to address your concerns with bio growth and at that time determined that the work that had been done there was not the cause of the bio growth issues. When the pictures were sent to ** from you that were taken by the remediation company, 12/8/2022 it was explained to you that the growth was in areas not cleaned during a regular maintenance and an additional fee was quoted for that cleaning to be done. You accepted this and the cleaning was performed 12/13/2022. We did waive our normal trip fee for this visit and only charged for the work performed. We have done everything in our power to help you resolve the issue.
