I suffered 2 compression fractures 4 weeks ago. I was in a lot of pain, so I decided to see a pain specialist. My first impression of him was he was nice. He prescribed medicine. I made an appointment for the following week to get an MRI done. I left the office feeling confident that I found a good doctor that I could trust. Well, was I mistaken! On Sunday morning, I woke up with excruciating pain in my back. The meds were not working. I called his office, knowing that they were closed, but also knowing that they have an answering service. I left a message at 11 AM. I said that I was in a lot of pain and I want to go to the emergency room, but before I went to the ER, I needed to know who he was affiliated with so I could be seen by him. I waited for 4 hours for a callback. Finally, I called back again with the same message. Basically, that I was in enough pain to go to the ER, but since I wanted him to be my doctor, I needed to know which hospital to go to. He called me back directly 10 minutes after the 2nd phone call and literally yelled at me to the point that I had to hold the phone away from my ear. Saying that if I was in so much pain, I should just go to the ER. It doesn't matter where he was affiliated with or anything else. He pointed out that it was a Sunday, he was not working that day. And that basically I should just figure it out on my own. He continued to rant and rave. I was in tears on the phone, trying to explain to him that the reason I was waiting for him to call me back was because I wanted to see him specifically. Wow. What a mistake that was. he is a horrible, horrible person. Do not let him touch you or anybody in your family. I have lived in Sarasota for the past four years, and I have never met a worst doctor in my life. The utter lack of professionalism from him was beyond Anything I have ever seen in my life and I am 63 years old. Please, do yourself a favor and don't even consider using this quack of a doctor.
