I have been a patient with I.M.G. now for over 30 years. Unfortunately, for the past two or three years, communication by phone has been agonizing. The portal has been available to me but there are times when the need to talk to a human being is required. This has been nearly impossible, and I am dumbfounded as to why this problem persists. Surely upper management has had this issue brought to their attention, but, for whatever reason, this issue continues. I cannot over-emphasize how annoying being on hold for so long that I hang-up the phone is. Wake-up I.M.G.!!!Review from Joey B

Terrible health providers in Sarasota at one time a great one, no one answer the phones, their portal is overloaded super slow. Under staff for the last two -three years. The current staff is clueless how to provide care most appear just hire off the street. Urologist and they only one have for a over 100 physicians on staff. His only goal is make money on each patient and does care why you are there. He is a big no go. The Neuro Dept is a joke you can't see a MD they are never in the office great job with great pay with our Medicare money. I'm using the Sarasota Hospital physicals group outstanding group and their offices answer their phones and return calls and you see an MD.Review from Alan G

This practice sucks! Primary care doc (******) ordered CT Scan with contrast of abdomen and pelvic area and didnt have the decency to call with results. I called radiology and a nurse (?) gave me an amateur, half-assed summary. So I asked for and got the imagery and radiology report which even in my interpretation was far more complete than the do-called nurse provided. Subsequently, used the portal (what a joke) and requested a follow-up with ******. No response the portal is broken thanks to an incompetent IT manager. How difficult is it for the doc to personally follow-up? Extremely difficult it seems. He ordered the scan for crying out loud.Review from Tamara M

My whole family has been going there for years. My husband scheduled a physical months ago, (that's how far out they're scheduling), he took a day off work to be told WHEN HE GOT THERE that he is being dropped because they aren't taking "new patients" and since he hasn't been there in a while, he is considered a "new patient ". They didn't have the courtesy to call him beforehand. Today my mother went for her appointment to be told WHEN SHE GOT THERE that the Dr. is out sick and needs to be rescheduled. My 74 year old mother doesn't drive so she has to find another ride on a different day. We used to recommend them to anyone that asked. We don't anymore.Review from Debra D

I think after 54 minutes on hold I won't be going to this group. To add insult to injury, I had been sent and put on hold for the entirely wrong department. Scary! Do they read their test results as accurately? I left a one star review mainly because the telephone number was answered as Intercoastal Medical Group. About 10 years ago I went for an appointment for neck pain and was counceled by the specialist at Intercoastal to go immediately to the Emergency Room for heart attack! I did have a very easy surgery for my t-3 immediately after. That surgeon that performed it and I shared quite a laugh about my experience with the doctor at Intercoastal.. I can't for the life of me understand why I decided to give them another chance and threw almost an hour of my life away. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice......but you can't say I'm not open minded!Review from Vin B

IMG at Lakewood Ranch building #1 is their radiology department. All patients in the area come to this single location for tests and bloodwork. The lobby is set up similar to a primary care office but the volume of patients is exponentially higher than any primary care in their system. The front desk area cannot physically handle the number of patients per day with a single window for intake. Their intake system is antiquated and patients wait too long to be seen as a result of these issues. Their staff is way overworked and significantly underpaid. Workers r burnt out by days end. Their management should be ashamed of themselves especially considering the revenue that this site generates. PAY YOUR WORKERS PROPERLY AND REDESIGN THE OFFICE TO CREATE EFFICIENCIES! If not, patients will continue to suffer and employee turnover will continue to be high. If you want to complain about the service or care you receive here, Please don’t blame the staff. Complain to management!Review from June R

I am a new patient to Intercoastal Medical Group. I came with some medical issues resulting in me seeing three physicians in a short period of time: Drs. ****************, and *****. I found them all to be amazingly kind, empathetic, and prompt addressing my medical issues. I found the staff to be friendly and efficient too!My prior physician's office is terrible; I have been waiting for a return call for 4 weeks after attempting several times to reach out to someone. I'm super thrilled changing to Intercoastal medical group!Review from Amador R

Went in for a wellness visits with no issues. During review of blood tests my cholesterol was high and I asked about preventative tests and Dr. Thomas said she could schedule a calcium test. I assumed this was preventative. She said my weight was high and I explained I just can't lose it. She gave me no information whatsoever on weight loss. With those two questions I was charged a co pay rather than a wellness exam. She did absolutely nothing . Talking to billing - very rude. This is a SCAM. There were no treatments , no advice, no nothing. Dr. Jessica Thomas. Cancelling future appointments. I would love to know how often this happens. Extra money for the practice. I asked to talk to the Dr. and could not do that. I feel like everyone in the office knows whats going on and they get upset because the copay is not that high. It is about the principal and this is a rip off. I asked for the notes from that visit, let's see if I get them. They could only mail them, they could not email them or post them on the patient portal where all of my other confidential information is.Review from Marilyn S

It's impossible to contact the doctor's office by phone. The wait time to talk to anyone at Intercoastal, even to make an appointment, is unbelievable. I've tried the online option, but no response. A portal isn't helpful if you need to talk to live staff in the doctor's office. This is a conveniently located facility in a beautiful setting, but what good is a lovely building with no staff or any way to communicate with anyone in the doctor's office? I'm a retired human resources professional, and I can only imagine what the staff morale is at the Intercoastal Medical Group.
