    My wife ****** and I own a home in ********, ** in a community called ***********. We were looking to hire someone to put some pavers down in our back yard. Theres a ******** page for the community, I asked the neighbors for a paver company. A few neighbors recommended I-Matt Pavers, aka **** ********. **** lives in the neighborhood, so I called him. He gave me a pretty decent price of $4500 for labor and materials. I attached his invoice. He wanted half the money up front to purchase materials, I said OK. We gave him a check for $2250, something was strange because he cashed that check the same night. That was the last we heard from him, his phone always goes straight to voicemail. I thought maybe he blocked my number, I asked a friend to call him, same result. I tried to text him, no reply. His number is **************. This guy scammed us out of $2250. It seems as though this business is registered in a woman's name ***** ******** Thank you

    The owner, who refers to himself as *****, gave my wife and I an estimate on a paver job for our backyard. He required a down payment of $5,000 to purchase the materials, in which we paid (and have a receipt) in August 2022. We had agreed for him to get started on the job after our pool was completely installed in October. After Hurricane ***, he claimed to be too busy with many repair jobs, so we allowed him to delay until after the new year. (He had done work for us previously in the past, there was no reason to not believe him). From January to March, he was very difficult to connect with, and eventually he responded. He, again, had delayed our job because he claimed that he was working for someone in another town in *******. Finally, we spoke to him on April 15th and he agreed to come to the house in the next 2 weekends to relook at the job. Since that phone call in April, he has not answered numerous phone calls and text messages, completely avoiding us, abandoning our job, and ultimately, stealing $5,000 from us.
