August 11, 2021 $312.75 Bolt a new electrical whip (a new cable) for a pool pump, and replace the pool timer's inner parts After they replaced the pool timer parts, the pool timer does not turn on by itself. It had always worked prior to Bolt installing the new parts. Not happy at all! Bolt Electric has completely ignored my calls, and scheduled and missed appointments with me a total of 4 times. I called Bolt Electric out in August because my pool pump kept cutting off. They explained that I would need to replace the pool pump (which I did) but the ran new wires and replaced the inside parts to my pool timer. They charged me over $300.00. At first, on about every 3rd day, the pool timer would not automatically turn on in the morning, I had to manually turn it on. (It had always worked prior to Bolt Electric working on it) Then it stopped turning on every day. That is when I called Bolt and asked them to come back to fix the issue. They initially did not call me back, so I called them again. This time, they scheduled an appointment to have a technician come back to repair the timer. The day before the appointment, they texted and said that they would have to reschedule. The day before the 2nd appointment, same thing. I received a text from their office, explaining that this was a busy time of year. They needed to reschedule a 3rd time. On the day of the 3rd appointment, they did not show up. I received an automated text saying that my technician would be out the following day, making this my 4th appointment. I immediately called them, and their answering service took my information, complaint, and said that someone would be in touch with me, but no one ever called. Also, no one ever showed up on the 4th appointment, and I never heard from them again.

We called Bolt to address 2 non working electrical outlets discovered during a home inspection on a house we were selling. One outlet was outside, one was in the garage. Dean came out and said he would have to go into the attic to find out where the wiring to the outside outlet was breached and quoted $348 just to find the cause, not even to fix it yet. He also quoted $298 to check the interior outlets to make sure all were working. We felt that cost was extreme and declined. He then charged us $59 service fee. We had a 2nd company come out, who educated us that the outside outlet was added on after the home was built, as evidenced by the way it was not flush with the wall, but rather attached on top of the wall, and the box next to it was a sub panel. He opened the sub panel and 2 breaker switches were present and in the down/ off position. He flipped them on and both outlets worked just fine. Something so basic, and we feel Dean tried to price gouge us, or else he is a very poor electrician.

We regret this customer feels this way. However, we came out to their property on December 10, 2021 to look at a power issue they were having with outlets. We gave them an estimate to do a diagnostic to figure out what the issue was. We do not do work for free and gave them a price on determining the issue. A circuit inspection and a diagnostic on failed circuit were quoted to find the power problem. The customer declined, signed the estimate/invoice and paid the travel charge. Typically we charge $69.00 for a travel charge, but we only charged $59.00 to this customer. We feel we have done our job to our standards.

Perhaps the first thing they should have determined was - if the breakers in the sub panel were ON. Just like the next electrician did right away. Problem was solved, everything worked, No $350 charge to go up in the attic for some phantom diagnostic. What electrician would not check to see if the breakers were on before quoting $350 to go up in an attic, when the sub panel was right next to the outside outlet. We don't expect work for free. But we also don't expect to be gouged

Again, we are not sure why the customer is upset over work that was not even completed. Diagnostics are typically quoted on any type of power issue, especially in older homes. It is a safety check to insure that all electrical in the home is properly working.
