    Our house flooded during Hurricane ******. Property management company, ****************************** provided minimal effort to mitigate or repair damage. They denied our repeated requests to properly assess and repair water damage. We hired a professional mold inspector which confirmed the house was uninhabitable due to toxic mold above normal levels within the house. We didnt live in the house for 2 months and were still required to pay rent. The agent informed me the owner was not going to complete the repairs recommended in the mold inspection report. They didnt believe that there was mold in the house or that it was uninhabitable despite a professional recommendation. We terminated the lease. The only repairs they were willing to make were replacing the baseboards and closet doors that were water logged and had fallen from the tracks. We had also been waiting for the non-functional window and crank assembly to be replaced for many months. I have video from their maintenance crew stating they found mold during the repairs.Now the agent has sent us a letter intending to impose our entire security deposit and charge us $40 for repairs that should be considered normal wear and tear. The charges include an egregiously high charge to patch the holes in the wall from hanging pictures and paint, replacing the blinds and replacing the closet doors that were damaged from the storm. I have correspondence stating they would replace the closet doors and video of their maintenance worked throwing them out to the curb for pick up. I demand full return of our security deposit for their blatant disregard for our health and safety the grossly inflated cost of repairs, and an itemized list of costs for supplies if the intent to impose the deduction with a remainder owed. The closet doors should not be included in this deductible. We should also be compensated for the rent paid while unable to live in the home and the mold inspection. The city has deemed the house uninhabitable.

    ABSOULTY THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DELT WITH.If your willingness to hang up on your tennent is anyway you Runn a company , I would advise folk to walk away from Dean and DeWitt...They Recently purchased my complex..And Have the gall to insist I pay yet Anothe Deposit. Of one and a half times my rent..i already gave my deposit.Two year's ago when i moved in.And They insist we Reapply another $75.00 each for yet another administration fee.WE DID ALL THAT THREE OWNERS AGO.So i would be into them for $3000.00 just in deposits..greed motivates this company..RUN! RUN FAST .THEY ARE RUDE AND HORRIBLE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH

    Increasing your deposit does not put any money into the owners pocket. It's to ensure the property is maintained in good condition and lease terms are followed. The deposit is 100% refundable and is based on credit and screening reports.
