Providers have been given a worse choice for payments. Additional fees are added on providers to burden, and payments get withheld until fees are paid by a 3rd party. After filing an official complaint, we were finally offered a "fee free" option, but told we needed to do this manually per payor. For small clinics, and small business, this is not feasible. During the resolution of this, we were promised that they would help set up our 4 biggest payers, to resolve this, and 8 weeks later, we are only complete on 2 of 4. When payments do not arrive in accounts, there is no repayment, or corrections offered, but instead directed at the company. As a 3rd party handling payments, this should be handle able by Zelis, and not forcing clinics to use labor hours, especially after Zelis collects the forced fees. As a company, Zelis is a predatory entity, that has no answers or corrections or follow through. Ex: 07/31/2025 Zelis states they pay us via Direct Deposit, stating that it was cleared into our account for the amount of 202.21. After requesting check tracing, the information was provided. As per procedure, we then provide bank statements and documentation showing the deposit did not arrive, and the payment should be reissued. Instead, we are requested to speak to the Payer, who is requesting we speak to Zelis, who is requesting we speak to the Payer, who is... and the loop goes on. Inefficient, Predatory, Unhelpful These words should be the mission statement for them.

Why are providers paying the fee that the insurance company should pay? It is the insurance companies benefit to not distribute checks; therefore they should be responsible for paying fees charged by Zellis to process payments for services that providers supplied. When we will insurance companies be held responsible for what they are doing to the health care industry? The executives earn huge salaries and back Venture Capitalist Groups driving small groups and providers out of business so they can pay themselves for subpar services. It's time for all providers to stand up to these unethical groups and congress to do something about this is so much more with the health care industry!

As a healthcare provider, we find Zelis to be one of the most inefficient and costly payment systems used by insurance companies. Rather than streamlining payments, it effectively holds funds hostage until providers pay exorbitant processing feesoften six times higher than industry competitors. This predatory fee structure is unacceptable, particularly for medical professionals who rely on timely reimbursements to sustain their practices. Its disappointing that insurers continue to partner with such an exploitative payment processor when more reasonable alternatives exist. Zelis practices place an unnecessary financial burden on providers, and we urge payers to reconsider their use of this platform.

hard to get to talk to someone, they keep sending virtual credit cards that I have to call every time and after being on hold for two hours, they send a paper check. Very unprofessional, I don't understand why insurance companies sign up for this kind of garbage.

This business is awful. They hold your money hostage unless you pay a fee for their ACH. I have called multiple times to get EOBs for payments I have already received, and they still will not send them. We did not originally authorize the insurance company to send our payments to ***** when we originally received them as checks. Every time I call, I am on hold for a ridiculous amount of time for them to not help me. This company is very unprofessional, and it would be worth no longer accepting the insurances that use this company for their payment processing.

Terrible. Communication is terrible, payments are terrible, they make you confirm your banking account information with a random rep before signing you up with EFTs. Seems very sketchy.

The company I work for **** * **** ** **** has been trying to switch from credit card payments to direct deposit and their customer service is nonexistent. I get stuck on the phone for hours listening to their crappy rock musak and have not been able to resolve this simple issue. If this is the future of payment processing, opt out of any insurance that uses Zelis. *** they are purposely creating a delay along with fees to keep payment from hard working doctors and allowing them NO recourse. Shame!

We are a dental company and the Zelis fees for ETF transactions are ridiculous, even higher than our credit card transaction fees. The insurance provider we are contracted with uses Zelis so we are stuck right now. Zelis and Credit Card processing fees need more regulation. They are all unregulated and can do essentially whatever they want and the consumer suffers.

I have made multiple attempts to switch our payment receipt method from Direct Deposit (with a fee) to a printable or paper check (without a fee). By law, insurance companies are required to provide a free payment method. When ever I call, I am placed on hold of a ridiculous amount of time and then I am ultimately only able to make a "call back request." I have made multiple attempts to have this changed and multiple call back requests but I have never received any communication or a call back. They will let us change our preferred payment method online and over the phone quickly and easily for direct deposit (with a fee) or printable credit card (which also results in a fee) but if you want a printable check or for them to just mail you a check then you will NEVER get any assistance. If they want to charge anyone a fee- they should charge the insurance company who selected their service. There should be a class action lawsuit against this company!

It should be illegal for us to pay a fee to get an EFT payment from an insurance company. GREEDY CROOKS
