- Additional Info:BBB has received a pattern of complaints concerning billing and sales practice issues. Specifically, consumer complaints allege the company will continuously call to offer DNA tests covered by Medicare or their insurance company, in some cases claiming to be agents with Medicare or insurance. Consumer complaints further allege that their insurance was billed for these tests.
BBB contacted the business in March 2019 in order to obtain the business position on the matter. The business has stated that they believe that due to the new testing format, new technology may get lost in translation.
Customers should always confirm that their test has been ordered by their doctor, that it's covered by their plan, and that it's medically necessary. Also, Customers should never give out their Social Security, Medicare/health plan numbers or banking information to someone they do not know. In addition, customers should never consent to any lab tests without their doctors' orders. Customers should call the customer service number on the back of their insurance ID cards to discuss coverage or other concerns.
If a customer asks about the testing, advise them to discuss it with their primary care physician (PCP).
