  Laithwaites is foreign run and operated. They send emails to *** Residents, which will take you to there site. Once you get to the site, they do not honor the email. Basically, it is a SCAM. Their Customer Support is Horrible. It Customer Non-Support. They will not allow you to talk to a Manager to resolve the issue. So, basically you receive an email, attempt to place an order, the order cannot be made unless you buy or pay for something else giving them MORE REVENUE, and their is no way to resolve the issue with ******************************* Team. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM OR FALL INTO THE SCAM."Your eGift Card value expires at midnight on Monday, June 30, 2025.Use of this credit/eGift/Gift Card constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. ***** to pay for wine, wine related items, and/or delivery charges as well as applicable sales taxes, online or by phone from Laithwaites."

  Ordered the first box from a National Geographic Promotion. Went in to ****** subscription after first box arrived. The cancel club button never works. Waited 15 minutes on chat line for support to cancel and was never connected to support.

  Basically the same story as everyone else here. If you drink a few bottles of cheap wine a year, it's better than what you'll get at ******. But besides that, it takes multiple tries to cancel your subscription. They will just keep sending it for you to reject at your door. They also do not send you an email before they'll send it, or after. I had to check my bank account just to get the company name. I eventually solved the problem by having my bank block all transactions from them, but not after 3 times this horrible pathetic company told me it was cancelled. Never again, it's not worth the $20 you think you'll save.

  This business commits fraud. I cancelled my service in December 2023 and just received a letter from a debt collector 9 months later telling me I had a 'cancellation charge' on my account that had never been paid. This is the first notice I am receiving. I never received any wine from Laithwaites that was not paid for and currently have no outstanding balance on my account, yet I was just forced to pay $223 or else my credit get ruined. It was incredibly difficult to cancel my subscription, now they are able to claim I owe them for cancelling last year. Unbelievable.

  I ordered one case and the wine was terrible. I never signed up for more wine, yet they sent me another case without notifying me. I only found out because of the charge on my credit card. It was too late to stop the shipment and I had to refuse the order (poor FedEx agent). I called and reiterated my cancellation. Two months later, another pending charge on my cc! Again, no email notification. I call again and need to speak with three agents before I am allowed to cancel. These conversations are accompanied by intense pressure to remain a customer. I think I managed to cancel, but I am almost prepared for another unwanted charge in a few months. I have ordered wine from other companies and never had this problem, nor undrinkable wine before.

  Placed orders without sending you emails and when you call to cancel they try to give you free shipping. Would not cancel my account even though I requested several times on the same call the response was to once again offer free shipping so I wouldnt cancel. STILL have not received an email that the account was canceled. The entire set up is just a scam. Wish Macyswinecellar hadnt handed my account over to this company.

  I have been trying to communicate with Laithwaites for weeks now to resolve a problem regarding a case of wine that I didn't like. Now I have received two cases of wine I don't like and have been charged for both. The original phone rep I talked to when I called regarding the fact that a case I purchased wasn't what I expected. The rep said that she would email me a return label and ship out a different replacement case. I was charged for the replacement case and for shipping, even though my membership is "free shipping". I never received the return label. I then received the replacement case, which was the same exact case I didn't want, instead of the substitute case I was told I would receive. I have now made numerous phone calls and spoken with 10 representatives. When I call and ask for a supervisor or manager to talk with, I'm told they are not available. One representative hung up on me when I asked for a manager (even though I was being very polite). After I received an email letting me know that the labels had been emailed, I replied to let them know that no emailed labels have been received. Laithwaites insists it has emailed me the return labels. As I receive all other emails from them, I know my email server is not screening out emails, but no labels have been received. I have now asked twice for Laithwaites to try sending the labels to my other email addresses and to mail them to my street address where my wine is delivered. Even thought I have offered Laithwaites these solutions, they ignore my requests. This is really, really sad, as I have spent hours trying to get them to rectify this situation. I don't know if the company has changed hands, if they have cut down on staff, or what the source of these problems are. We have been a loyal customer of ********************** since the time they partnered with ****** and it is disappointing to be treated in this manner.

  they showed up one day and shoved a case of wine in my door. this was NOT ordered by me and all I get from them is the run around.

  They failed to deliver the introductory offering and cancelled the order and refunded it only to then charge me full price for the next shipment months later. Clearly shouldve cancelled it after they cancelled the initial order but it was such a fiasco with them saying it was delivered when it wasnt that I felt the whole thing was off. No bonus gifts or high end wine delivered in the second shipment unlike the initial offering.Scam to be avoided at all costs. Shame on National Geographic for lending them their credibility.Avoid!

  This is a thoroughly disreputable company with corrupt business practices. Do not be taken by their scams. They are well skilled at setting the bait that attracts customers in; But the resulting outcome is that this is a corrupt entity that does not serve its customers, and does not deliver value nor a drinkable product. Laithwaites is an ugly organization that hides accountability through layers of complexity.
