      I am writing a formal complaint against Best Price Kitchen ************* for substandard work performed at my home. On July 19, 2024, I hired **** **** from Best Price Kitchen ************* to remodel my kitchen including installing new cabinets and countertops. I selected a luxury Taj Mahal quartzite stone to be the centerpiece of my kitchen island countertop. After the center island countertop installation, I discovered multiple issues. First, the countertop was fabricated incorrectly. The overhang to accommodate the stools was supposed to be 12 and in actuality it was only 9.5. Additionally, after the center island countertop was installed, I noticed that an approximate 2 inch corner of the center island had been broken off and glued back together. These issues were not disclosed to me before installation, and I was shocked to find that the contractor proceeded with the installation. I contacted the company immediately to express my concern, but despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, the contractor disclaimed liability wouldn't correct the problem. He argued that the stone broke due to a fissure but even to a lay person, the break was due to a drop. **** agreed that the right result was to replace the broken countertop. To add to the situation, **** refused to complete the remaining cabinet installation, and I was left to find another contractor to finish installing the crown molding at a cost of $477. I also had to purchase a replacement countertop at a price of $4,500 for the materials, fabrication and installation.I am requesting the company:1.Reimburse me for the replacement slab that I was forced to purchase at a cost of $4,500; and 2.Reimburse me for the contractor I hired to finish the cabinets at a cost of $477.I am dissatisfied with the service and the lack of accountability from Best Price Kitchen *************. I am seeking your help in resolving this matter and ensuring that they adhere to professional and ethical standards.

      ****** ******* is a liar and we have our text messages thread to prove we advised him to have the slabs he purchased from ********** on his own changed because we noticed cracks in the slabs. He did not want to deal with it and gave us permission to cut the slabs as he and his wife layed out out our shop. He then gave us authorization to cut the slabs after we advised him of the cracks and now hes blaming us for a crack in his island. Also he claims he wanted a bigger island but his wife is the one who did the slab layout for how we would cut the slabs.

      I am rejecting this response because: ****** allegations are false, I have text message evidence to prove that he admitted that the corner of the countertop slab was broken off by his fabricators and glued back together. **** even came into my house and took pictures and realized that it was broken. I have the slab saved in my garage as evidence of his faulty work. Additionally, he did not come back to my house to finish the installation of the trim around the cabinets. I had to pay these costs out of pocket to finish the job. I would not recommend anyone to use this dishonest contractor in the future.
