              While a patient with this dermatology business,I was concerned aobout the visual piece concerning the appearence of my neck. I said I would like to fix this.The doctor said I could have an evaluation of what could be done to remedy this situation.She said it would cost 50.00. I said I could not afford this. The doctor said that there would be no charge.I agreed,then, to be evaluated. Dr.Kristin W. gave me an evaluation, and later, charged me for this. I explained that I was TOLD that there would be no charge, but they continued to send statements requesting me to pay this charge. I have paid it, but they lied and charged me for this service that,previously, they told me would be NO CHARGE AT ALL.

              Very simply, my husband had an appointment set up with BAY CARE DERMATOLOGY and when trying to call the office for information beforehand, reached a voicemail. NOT a good sign immediately. When I finally spoke to a SHAR, the office manager, she was very rude. She informed me that I would not be able to go into the room with my husband who does not hear well. I told her that would not be acceptable as my husband has several suspicious spots on his back and scalp that I feel needed to be looked at right away. She became defensive (I recorded some of the conversation) and told me I could NOT go into the office with him. I asked to speak to the doctor my husband was going to see. After 2 hours, SHAR called back to say the doctor felt we should find another office which we were going to do anyway. But when I asked her the name of the doctor, she again would not work with me. I feel like maybe this is endangerment and discrimination and am going to check into this further. A patient should ALWAYS be allowed to speak to the doctor if his office manager comes off as rude to the patient. This will be addressed by me. In the meantime, I would advise ANYONE to choose another dermatologist. Most the time, you will not see a REAL doctor here anyway, usually just a NP. But refusing my husband because I asked to come into the room with him is bordering on dangerous and discriminatory against my husband due to a physical disability. SHAR is a very rude office manager and a doctor is ONLY as good as his office manager. I will be placing a complaint with the https://flboardofmedicine.gov. Patients need to hold doctors accountable AND his/her staff for these actions.

              It is within our rights as a private practice to decline services to patient whom do not follow our office protocol and CDC guidelines. In our office we strive to offer excellent customer care to each person who calls or walks through our doors. With that being said, there are instances when patients overstep the boundaries of our staff and providers by becoming harassing. Without telling the full story behind this review (which we will not share publicly), we will state that the behavior of the original poster was uncalled for. In this instance, it is in the best interest of our providers and staff to recommend the patient to find a different provider. It is also illegal to record any conversation without making all participants of the call verbally aware that the conversation is being recorded.

              This practice has LIED substantially in this return comment. I am also filing a complaint with the FL Board of Medicine regarding DISCRIMINATION from this medical office, the physician and the office manager. I am leaving reviews on any and every website I can find that will help patients decide whether this type of office is for them. If even ONE patient decides to go elsewhere, it will be worthwhile. This office does not deserve patients that they CLEARLY do not care about! A doctor that will allow his office manager to speak to his patients as she has done is not a doctor with integrity. And the fact that he would not call back when asked is discrimination. This will not go away on my end. I will make static. I will make noise. And I will see to it that their name is 'out there.' I will tell the TRUTH of what happened, not 'SHARS' version. As I said before, I have a good portion of it on tape if the doctor would like to call and hear it. I ALSO HIGHLY RESENT THE COMMENTS THAT I WAS 'HARASSING!' This is NOT true and SHAR is a LIAR! This is far from being over. Also, as a patient myself, that has been treated there for pre-cancer, it's funny they didn't find anything 'harassing' about me before. As a matter of fact, they wrote to tell me to come back in and have the spot checked again. Now, simply because I wanted to go in the room with my husband that has Myasthenia Gravis and is hard of hearing, it has turned into an all-out war in the words of SHAR. Shame on her and shame on Dr ESGUERRA for allowing it! They have discriminated against me AND my husband for his physical disabilities and I will pursue this until I have no more avenues.!
