They will not answer their phone. I need to talk to someone. I could not get an actual person to chat with online and they won**;t answer their phones. I**;m going to have to cancel them. They owe me 2 months fee. I would like to get a refund and to cancel my services with them.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Lighthouse has lied about contacting me through my father prior through advocacy. They have not left him one voicemail or email. Lighthouse is still contacting me directly regarding emails from March 19- present. I originally advocated for myself in writing on March 20 for all communications to go through my father. They have been negotiating with me for the fifth debt prior to their response. At double original debt and a monthly payment increase from 401-$701. I have not signed a new contract but they have already set up my account to get drafted on the 4. Lighthouse employees have stated if I didnt take the last unreasonable offer I would continue to get sued and my wages garnished.

It was $9550 when originally it was $7800. My credit score is 500. On top of unprofessional employees giving personal opinions for my life choices. They contacted me and never left voicemails to say they contacted me on several occasions unsuccessfully. I feel that they have taken advantage of me and my mental illness through unsavory business practices. In the past *** stated my comprehension is sometimes questionable with my mental illness. I didnt understand getting sued was definitely going to happen to me like the ****** review stated. That it was my fault for not taking all offers I asked for hard copies. I started submitting emails on March ********************************************************************************************* They contacted me after I advocated for myself to *******. Only today have they honored me advocating for myself. The fourth debt settled was taken to court to sue me. Which they were successful doing. Hence the settlement in full. Repeatedly telling employees this situation is stressful and no response but anger. The last settlement is already being drafted out of my account next month and I have signed no paperwork or been emailed on the debt that was settled.

Not one of my credit cards were even late on payments and two accounts went to court. I almost suffered an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. I have stated this to Lighthouse since February. They are stalling to give us original signed contracts and amount of original debt settled. They have sent one of two contracts. One settled and the other still in negotiations for double debt and a 75% extra charge each month. They have an electronic draft coming out May 4. I have seen no contact on as of 5/1. On top of being served a second time on the same debt settled this month. First time was in January. Thats where the fourth settlement came from. Being sued in court on an account that wasnt even late on payment when lighthouse acquired.

The fifth settlement was settled for 17% over original debt and a monthly payment increase of $401-701 for the last debt settlement. Overall services cost me 38% over original debt from the beginning. They produced paperwork after the last debt was settled. They sold my debt to a law office who in turn sued me for the debt through court with threat of wage garnishment of my monthly income. This wasnt disclosed until the last debt. Debt settlement services need to disclose normal practices in their business practices. ***** sold. Court settlement through sold debt to other parties. I settled for the last settlement for fear of my job getting garnished I had to get after service fees.Customer Answer

Stay away, they said they would handle all of my credit cards and after paying them 150 a month and them getting ****** dollars from me, nothing was done, they just took my money and all the credit card companies were calling me saying that I was late and adding additional late fees, explaining they had not even received a call from light house debt relief and trying to call them they avoided all calls and left me broke and hanging Stay AWAY.Business Response

Thank you for bringing our client's concern to our attention. Ms. ********* made the first payment into the debt resolution program on 6/14, less than 3 months into her 30-month program term. For many of our clients, we are able to reach a settlement within the first 90 days, but due to the status of her accounts upon enrollment, the creditors would not yet honor a settlement. We did explain to Ms. ********* that we will be able to settle her accounts, and we expected her to graduate on time within the 30-month term our client had chosen, saving substantial time and money. Lighthouse Finance Solutions is performance based, meaning we do not earn any fees until accounts are settled and the settlement is approved by our clients, and in line with this agreement, Lighthouse has not collected any fees for service from Ms. ********** The payments Ms. ********* made to date were saved in her dedicated savings account, set aside to be used once settlements occur. Those drafts have now been returned and we respect Ms. *********** request not to be contacted, but if she changes her mind, we encourage her to contact our offices again and request to speak to any member of our leadership team.Initial Complaint

Thank you for bringing **************** concern to our attention. A positive client experience is very important to us at Lighthouse Finance Solutions, and we were disappointed to hear that we weren't able to meet **************** expectations. ************ enrolled in our program just over one year ago, and in that timeframe, we were able to settle four of eight of the tradelines included in the program. She was well on her way to graduating our program and becoming debt free, perhaps even earlier than the 48-month program term.
Unfortunately, one of the remaining creditors took aggressive action that is outside of the norm in this industry. ************ canceled our program on 6/26/24. Once we received this notification from the BBB, we immediately contacted her to help resolve her concerns to the best of our ability. We issued a full refund of fees paid into her legal plan and took steps to get those funds back to her as quickly as possible. We are also working together with ************ to recover fees charged by her bank. We will follow up with her next week after receiving guidance from the plan attorney to determine if funds can be recovered from the law firm.

I have been calling for over a week in regards to cancellation and having them give me the money I put into the savings account. The man I spoke with over the phone was very rude. They still have not sent me a cancellation email. This process of simply canceling with them because I cant afford it anymore has been frustrating. Upon signing up with this company the manager told me this is completely your money, you can pull money out and if you cancel at anytime we will refund you whats yours Ive gotten no answer. No help. We've been in communication with ************************ as recent as 4/21 via a phone call she made to customer service and this morning we connected with her and updated her on the cancellation process. **************************** desire to cancel was processed accordingly as requested, however, client was unaware that these funds are sent to her via check. We've since advised her that the check has been voided and an ACH return has been initiated for her to help. Client was thankful for the information, we apologized for any misunderstanding. A cancellation email was also sent to her on 4/21 @ 3:05 PM EST shortly after her call with our **************** was concluded, that confirmed her cancellation. We advised that it may be in her spam box. Client stated she was thankful for the contact and ACH, and would be contacting the BBB to retract this complaint. We advised to ************************ that we would also be responding to the complaint. In just a few short months in our program, we were successful in placing her into settlements on 75% of her accounts enrolled, and we advised her she is welcome to come back at anytime. Upon receipt of the complaint, Company reached out to the Consumer to discuss with him the nature of his allegations against Company. After discussing the matter with the consumer, it appeared that there was some confusion arising regarding the remainder of his program. The parties were able to clear up the confusion, and Company went forward in good faith gesture to the customer and waived a portion of its fees. The consumer was grateful, and the matter was resolved. The parties agreed that upon completion of the items discussed and waiver of the fees said to be waived, the Consumer will advise the BBB that the matter no longer at issue and the consumer agreed to withdraw the complaint.
