    AAMCO Pensacola rebuilt the transmission for my GMC ACADIA in Nov of 23. Over the next 14 months my vehicle was back in the shop at least 7 times for issues related to the transmission as well as technician error. On at least 3 occasions my transmission was pulled from the vehicle. On at least 2 of those occasions the torque converter was pulled and replaced, the last time being 1/8/25, at which time the technician did not properly tighten the bolts on my flex plate. The bolts quickly backed out of the flex plate holes causing damage to the flex plate. I returned again to AAMCO for this issue and was told AAMCO was not in a position to fix this problem - the problem they created.
    I had to have a second automotive repair company fix the damaged flex plate and paid almost $3,500. AAMCO owner, Josh Novak, refused to reimburse me for this bill caused his company’s negligence - which necessitated me filing in small claims court against him and his business. During the first step, Mediation, Mr Novak was extremely belligerent. He harassed, intimidated and threatened ME if I didn’t drop the charge against his business. He repeatedly lied to the mediator while producing false evidence, and he succeeded in coercing the mediator to side with him. The mediator even encouraged him to sue me for the “false charge” against his company.
    I had no choice but to go to Small Claims Court to have a judge decide my case. Mr Novak again repeatedly lied, he produced false evidence and became extremely arrogant and belligerent claiming that after the last time they worked on my vehicle I drove 16,000 miles in one month which caused damage to the flex plate.
    The judge found in my favor, awarding compensation to also include a necessary rental car expense due to AAMCO keeping my vehicle for up to 3 weeks at a time while it was there for repairs.
    Unfortunately I was not awarded attorney fees which I would not have incurred had Mr Novak done the right thing in the first place.
