    Pest control service used for last 13+ years for annual termite inspection contacted us this year to schedule and collect payment for this year's annual inspection in December.
    We paid annual cost we had every year when scheduling inspection for January (after Christmas holidays).
    Pest service conducted annual inspection per agreed upon communication regarding annual inspection, and in concert with having taken payment for services IN ADVANCE in January.
    A few days later, we were sent a seperate invoice via mail, stating that we owed an additional $350 for a " five year booster," which is the cruxt of the issue with this company.

    It is our belief, that this company had no legal right, and certainly NOT our permission to conduct unapproved, unsocialized, unauthorized work on our property, but did so with complete disregard for our rights as homeowners.

    Were they to have socialized this DOUBLING of our annual inspection cost when scheduling us...

    We would have at the very least been aware that this year's annual inspection cost was going to be more than double.

    We also believe that refusing to pay for a service that was performed on our property without our permission is tantamount to criminal action.

    It would be a kin to a tree service (ME) contacting a recurring customer to schedule a trim of palm trees, accept their annual trimming payment, schedule them for service, then show up and take down a tree and send the customer who was only operating under the understanding that I was only there to do the annual trimming they paid for.

    This type of business model is rampant in the real estate industry and is prevalent throughout ancillary outfits like pest control services.

    Every year they have done our pest inspections, the technician walks the property, refills dispensers (in/ground centricon things) and looks for signs of termite presence.

    THAT'S IT. $300/yr.

    So I gotta ask...what is the 5 year booster, and why didn't they tell us about it.

    Our Manager, Tom Mitchell, spoke to Mr. ******** today 2/17/23 and Mr. Mitchell offered Mr. ******** a reduction of $150. for the service instead of $350, it would be $200 and Mr. ******** was in agreement. I have attached a copy of the service order with notes from the service technician along with the contract that was signed on December 12, 2022 by Mrs. ********.
