Unfortunately I can't leave zero stars.
I had the unfortunate experience of be caught up in Mr Rob Benson's and Legacy Mutual's chaotic web of incompetence and unethical business practices.
It was similar to dealing with a used car dealership. Not salesman, but dealership, because everyone involved seemed intent on cutting corners and not following what I guess set rules and regulations. I mean they tried getting me into a HELOC "after" my house was under contract.(?) What is that? Finally Rocket Mortgage caught on and flat out refused them.
This was after my credit was ran 8 times by various, unaccredited money lenders.
In the middle of all this, Mr Rob Benson's wife delivers a baby and Mr Benson goes completely underground for 2 weeks- no contact what so ever. why? I can't tell you. With delivering my 3 boys my wife did all the work - i was able to check in at work, anyway.. His "Executive Assistant" Mr Jacob Mixon had no knowledge of me and of what HELOC even stands for, SMH.
Long story short, I was never given an opportunity to review my files (as per the law) and found out AT CLOSING what my rate was and that there was a 2 year prepayment penalty on the loan. which I DID NOT agree to. You see that insures the broker gets maximum fees for the services- and sticks ME with 41,000 in interest OR 29,000 in penalties in the event I want to payoff like i wanted too.
The ONLY reason I signed off at closing was because we were relocating across the country from Chicago to Florida and Mr Rob Benson held up the documents to push the closing, while I'm in a hotel, till the last possible moment and i literally had a 53ft trailer parked in front of my future home with the meter running trying to unload my belongings and furniture. Wonderful experience!
This was supposed to be my retirement but now due to these interest charges i probably have to work another 18 months until i can slose out this loan. ALL SO MR ROB BENSON CAN GET PAID HIS FEE
All i can say is Karma ??
